The Alberta SPOR SUPPORT Unit Graduate Studentship in Patient-Oriented Research offers a stipend of $30,000 to Alberta-based Master's and Doctoral students. Recipients also participate in a year-long supplemental training program to develop skills and integrate patient-oriented research approaches in their thesis projects.

This Masterclass offering, starting April 12, 2023, will highlight new approaches and build the capacity of participating teams to prepare fit-for-purpose evidence products and to engage in the key complementary processes that help to facilitate the preparation of evidence products and increase the likelihood that they’ll have an impact. Participation in the Masterclass will help these teams build the capacity to prepare products and engage in the key complementary processes that support rapid learning and improvement in an ongoing way.

4. Comics for Science Translation: Policy, Research, Story

5. Patient-Oriented Research Training

The Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit is pleased to offer virtual Patient-Oriented Research Training based on the Patient-Oriented Research Foundations modules provided by Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Training will take place over two half-day sessions. The sessions will focus on providing an understanding of patient-oriented research, the research enterprise and team dynamics.

7. Call for Abstracts: CHILD-BRIGHT Virtual Symposium

The CHILD-BRIGHT Network wishes to celebrate its past accomplishments in Phase 1 as we prepare for an exciting and challenging Phase 2! We invite CHILD-BRIGHT members and other external research groups to celebrate with us by submitting an abstract and presenting research focused on childhood brain-based developmental disabilities. The format of this year’s virtual symposium will feature short presentations of CHILD-BRIGHT’s research projects, invited plenary speakers that explore how we can translate and implement research findings to impact the lives of patients and families, as well as a poster session providing updates on exciting recent work. Stay tuned as more details will be shared in the coming weeks.

9. Advancing Quality Improvement with Implementation Science

This webinar will highlight ways implementation science overlaps with QI. Participants will learn how implementation science concepts can enhance QI efforts and vice versa. Thinking about their own QI projects or project ideas, participants will learn how to employ familiar QI tools (fishbone diagram and key driver diagram) adapted to incorporate implementation science frameworks to identify barriers and facilitators to change in their local setting and understand how to incorporate implementation outcomes into their QI projects.

11. Reflections on Cancer Implementation Science and 15 Years of the Annual Conference

13. Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Health Equity and Children's Pain

Dr. Christine Chambers and Dr. Kathryn Birnie are recruiting a Post-Doctoral Fellow who has an interest in health equity and children’s pain. The Fellow would be based in the Centre for Pediatric Pain Research at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with opportunities for collaboration with Solutions for Kids in Pain (SKIP), a national knowledge mobilization network whose mission is to improve children's pain management by mobilizing evidence-based solutions through coordination and collaboration.
