A very successful 'Outdoor Gym'
Outdoor gym volunteers gathered around the site for the new bench
A reasonable November Saturday 19th morning resulted in a good turnout with many familiar faces stepping up to help manage the land around the Tithe Barn.
Led by our very own Landscape Architect and Horticulturalist (and Interim Chair) Carolin Göhler we were cutting rough grass areas and scrubby vegetation around the new eco-toilets as well as at the barn's apron, staking our crabapple tree (which survived the hot summer due eager watering during the driest days by volunteer Maggie), starting the bramble clearance along the ditch and access path as well as installing a new simple bench on the meadow strip near the toilets and crabapple - all good landscape improvements benefitting wildlife and people.
Volunteers hard at work
The satisfaction of a job well done!
We hold 'Outdoor Gym' working parties regularly through the year to manage the essential tasks of keeping the barn and its environs neat and tidy as well as progressively upgrading the faclities available to visitors. We always welcome new volunteers so, if you would like to join us for a morning's healthy activity (no experience necessary), make new friends and perhaps meet old ones, details are published on the Trust's website under 'Our Events'. The next opportunity will in February (date to be confirmed) - do come and join in!
Art and the Barn - a personal perspective

The Tithe Barn at Landbeach has been put to many uses in its long history and today, as part of ensuring it becomes a valued asset appreciated by the local community, it is available as a space for a diverse range of activities. It has been used both as a venue in which to display artworks and also has provided the inspiration for artists of many stripes. In our latest blog post local artist Mary Fraser shares her thoughts on how the barn has served her as a source of inspiration. Click the buttons below 'Cornfield' to learn more.

Want to support Landbeach tithe barn at no cost to you? Here's how.
Shop and Give logo
The Tithe Barn Trust has teamed up with TheGivingMachine's 'Shop and Give' initiative: a great way to support the barn whilst shopping online.

Every year the online shops you use pay millions in sales commissions to other websites (such as voucher code websites) that direct shoppers to them. If you buy via TheGivingMachine's 'Shop&Give' platform these commissions are turned into donations for the Tithe Barn - all at no cost to you. Join for free and then shop online at over 2000 retailers including big names such as Amazon, John Lewis, eBay, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Tesco and Next. The commissions you generate will be converted into donations, so you raise money for the barn by doing what you would do anyway - it couldn't be simpler! You can find out more and sign-up at https://shopandgive.thegivingmachine.co.uk/#ShopNow or by clicking the 'Shop & Give' logo above.
