NPQ Monthly Bulletin

Red Kite Teaching School Hub

November 2022

Hello and welcome to the first Red Kite NPQ bulletin!

We have introduced the bulletin as way to keep you all up to date with NPQ delivery and hopefully avoid sending too many emails. We are also now working with over 260 participants and feel a bulletin will help give colleagues a flavour of the full NPQ journey.

As ever please, use the NPQ dedicated email if you have individual queries: npq@rklt.co.uk

Welcome Cohort 2a:
NPQ Executive Leadership, NPQ Headship, NPQ Early Years Leadership, NPQ Senior Leadership, NPQ Leading Teacher Development, NPQ Leading Teaching, NPQ Leading Literacy, NPQ Leading Behaviour and Culture!
We hope you have all had a chance to meet your group and facilitators. Seminar dates and Zoom links for the year have been circulated so please make sure you have these in your diary.
Specialist cohort 1a:
Leading Behaviour and Culture, Leading Teaching and Leading Teacher Development
Congratulations to all our participants who have completed their NPQ and Bright Space engagement and progressed to the final assessment, we wish you all the very best for your forthcoming assessment on 6th November.
Please ensure you have worked through the Bright Space module on the assessment to prepare and keep an eye on emails from Teach First explaining the next steps.
If you have access issues during the assessment period (technical or otherwise) please notify us asap via the NPQ email.
NPQ funding: did you know you can complete more than 1 NPQ?

For those of you completing your NPQ journey you may be interested in completing a further NPQ. For specialist NPQs there is progression to a Leadership NPQ: NPQSL, NPQEYL or NPQH. In addition, we have a new NPQ in Leading Literacy (for primary and secondary) and a NPQ in Early Years Leadership, which is suitable for early years and reception teachers who are leading or aspire to lead an early years setting. For more information and our simplified application process please see here: https://forms.office.com/r/AeWgM23N2v

In addition, we are very excited to announce that we will be delivering from February a new NPQ LTD for ITT colleagues. This is fully funded for colleagues working in ITT settings, not just schools, and the course is the DfE’s preferred training route for lead mentors.

Applications for a February 2023 start close on Monday 26th January 2023.

NPQ LTD: putting theory into practice, opportunities to be part of our ECF delivery

Colleagues who are completing NPQ LTD may be interested in facilitation opportunities at the Hub to deliver Early Career Framework. If you are interested in being part of our delivery, please complete our expression of interest form and we will be in touch as opportunities arise.

Conferences

Conference attendance is mandatory, and you will not meet the 90% engagement criteria to pass if you miss a conference. It is vital you inform us asap if you cannot attend a conference so we can try and find an alternative Hub conference, we cannot always guarantee this will be possible.
