It's HOMECOMING!

It's Tradition Time - get ready for an explosion of school spirit

Iowa State takes Homecoming very seriously: all the leaves turn red and yellow and gently fall all over the place, we gather for food on central campus each day of Homecoming week, and old standbys like banners, displays, Yell Like Hell, late night pancakes, and mass campaniling make an appearance. You'll see alumni return with their families to wander around our beautiful campus to reminisce, and Cyclone sports are obviously a big focus as well.

New this year is a Homecoming kickoff this Sunday, October 30 in the commuter parking lots. Homecoming activities will continue throughout the week, and culminate Friday night (and, of course, at the Homecoming game on Saturday afternoon). Check out the Homecoming events linked below, and lean into the school spirit. Homecoming is led by students who are a part of the Student Alumni Leadership Council (SALC), which is an organization you should definitely get involved in if you are looking for an outlet for your leadership skills. Happy Homecoming!

Happy homecoming week! I hope everyone is fully immersing themselves in all the Cyclone spirit on campus! I hear this year's theme is Cy Me to the Moon...? 10/10. Let me be real with you for a moment: I have written a homecoming blurb nearly every year I have been at Iowa State (I have been here a long time) and every year I have never felt more excited about Iowa State than I do during homecoming... because of the marching band :) We have an excellent Homecoming Queen (wink, wink) show planned this year with our 300+ band alumni who are coming back to celebrate homecoming with all of us! I'm no mathematician, but 300+ is a lot of people.
Year after year, my favorite homecoming tradition continues to be the band's parade from the band field all the way to the steps of the Alumni Center where we perform at the homecoming pep rally. Be sure to check us out, along with other fun homecoming activities all over campus this week! Let go a little and join in on the fun! Homecoming only happens once a year, and this is my last one, so I'm gonna make it count and I hope you do, too! Let's beat those Mountaineers! Go, Cyclones!

Stay up to date on daily Homecoming activities

Homecoming Friday night, early (6:00-9:00pm):

Start your Friday night at the Alumni Center! Use your Food on Campus button for food. The Pep Rally features the ISUCF'V' Marching Band and Spirit Squad, coaches and student-athletes (from football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and wrestling), Yell Like Hell finals, and Cardinal Court. Stop by before the volleyball game vs. K-State at 6:30pm in Hilton.

Homecoming Friday night, later (10:00pm-midnight or whenever they run out of pancakes):

Eat pancakes on central campus starting at 10:00pm (bring a few $$) before mass campaniling and fireworks (literal and metaphorical?) at midnight.
2:30pm on Saturday: it's us vs. the Mountaineers
