KMUD-Redwood Community Radio and Mateel Community Center present the time-honored tradition, non profit fundraiser, Halloween Boogie an all ages costume party and contest with prizes, doors 7pm Saturday, October 29th.

Southern California surf rock/ reggae band Perro Bravo and punk/ska/reggae band Hijinx from Santa Cruz will perform. All ages costume contest, Kids category starts at 8:30pm, adults follow prizes for the best costumes. Full bar for those 21 + dinner & treats from the Mateel kitchen will be available for purchase. Tickets are on sale now for $20 both in advance and at the door.

Friday, November 4th the Mateel hosts a Dia De Los Muertos/Day of the Dead event with Humboldt’s own red hot Cumbia band Makenu plus Latin beats from DJ Amaru Shia & DJ Diablinski, doors are at 7pm. Dinner will be served from the Mateel kitchen, and a full bar will serve those 21 and over. Tickets are on sale now for $10 in advance. Tickets are $15 at the door.

Leggett Italian Club presents Rome By Night a Three Course Italian Meal with wine from Vino Divino Saturday, November 5th from 6-8pm $25 per person. Reservations required via email of phone amber@leggett.k12.us or 707-354-3465. All proceeds go towards the students’ March 2023 trip to Rome!

Great Moments in Weed History podcast Sunday, November 6th with a live panel of local growers and cannabis historians, followed by live stand up comedy by Billy Wayne Davis, Mike McGowan, and others!

The Garberville Veterans Association would like to invite hungry community members to attend their free Thanksgiving Day meal, hosted by the Mateel Community Center in their main hall, on Thursday, Nov 24th. Food will be served at noon after a brief prayer. Volunteers are encouraged to come as early as 8am, we will need people to help cook, and for cleanup afterwards.
