VISITING CAROLINAS

On September 28 to October 4, I. Mileyev traveled to South and North Carolina to get to know new communities and churches that are being opened up by migrants coming from the western states. For the most part, these are young families with children who saw better financial opportunities for their families, as well as “voluntary” options for vaccinations for their children in public schools. Some of these groups began to establish churches in their new locations, and asked for help from the Association. More details can be found here.

WHAT DO TEENS THINK OF JESUS?

What do today's teenagers from different religious groups think about Jesus, the Bible, and justice? US-based Christian sociological organization Barna asked this question to nearly 25,000 teenagers in 26 countries and received encouraging responses.

Only 8% said He was detached from today's real issues, 7% thought He was judgmental, 6% thought He is irrelevant, and 4% thought He was hypocritical.

The Women’s Ministry of the Baptist World Alliance invites women to participate in the Women's International Day of Prayer, which will be held on November 7. The theme for 2022 is “The Victorious Life,” taken from the truth of 2 Corinthians 2:14, “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place”. THE TITLE OF PASTOR CAN ONLY BELONG TO MEN

The Seminary of the Southern Baptist Convention passed a resolution reaffirming its president's position that only men can be pastors, an indirect response to Rick Warren's Saddleback Church ordaining three female pastors last year.

At their fall meeting, the trustees of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, unanimously approved a resolution urging the seminary administration to continue the theological training of both men and women, but only men are to be recognized as pastors.
