Imagine walking through a lush redwood forest with silent giants standing tall and ethereal sunlight filtering through their boughs. As you breathe deep, the cool, fragrant air fills your lungs with the tang of damp earth.

Unseen in the canopy above, a chorus of birdsong greets you – a cheerful melody that is accompanied by the quiet rush of a nearby stream. In this majestic panorama, you spy red-bellied newts, mushrooms, and patches of vibrant moss dotting the forest floor like glistening jewels.
Imagine arriving at the coast and being enveloped by a playful sea breeze. A winding deer path through the dunes leads you to a broad beach striated with kelp and driftwood. Here, the waves command your attention as they crash raucously against the shore.

You see Western snowy plovers scuttling along the waterline, while seagulls cry and wheel overhead. Further along, a colony of harbor seals lolls off a sandbar surrounded by tide pools abounding with sea stars and anemones. In the distance, a gray whale spout rises into the air.

Now imagine your child or a friend’s child visiting these places and being able to experience the same wonder and awe. It is the creation of these memories, this connection to nature that you are preserving – for your family, for the community, for future generations...
With your membership, you are ensuring the protection of these precious natural resources by keeping them open and thriving. From engaging children to learn about ecology through our Forest to the Sea program and the Mobile Marine Van, to offering annual naturalist-led seminars and volunteer trainings, and renovating iconic landmarks such as Marguerite Wildenhain’s Pond Farm and the Jenner Visitor Center, Stewards counts on your help to build a sustainable partnership between people and their parks.
