NEWS FROM THE PEWS
(If you have any news you would like to share with the congregation, please contact Nayna Byers.)

If you would like to bring a snack to share, please let Sanna Bashor or Nayna Byers know so we can plan accordingly.
  • Continued prayers for Barbara Loehman who continues to deal with extreme knee pain and is having a deep nerve block this week in hopes of finding relief. Prayers also for Patti Haigh who had spinal surgery in Denver last week and is recovering.
  • We had a good response to the possibility of having an advent Bible study and Fellowship dinner the first three Wednesday evenings Advent 11/30, 11/7, and 11/14. We will have a simple potluck dinner. If you have signed up for the Bible Study, let Nayna know if you can bring a main dish (like soup, chili, crock pot meal), bread, salad, or dessert and for which date. We will let you know the topic shortly. It is not too late to sign up.
  • Thank you to the LT Student Transition Team who is cleaning our space. Our vacuum (very old) is not working and they were able to find us a used one so we do not have to invest in a new one.
  • Last week we received a thank you letter from the Leadershop for the money we donated in September for school supplies. Thank you all.
  • We will be commemorating All Saints Day in worship on 11/6/22. The chimes will be sounded for those who passed since All Saints Day of 2021.....Ruth Davenport, Mary Ellis, Bob Hegner, Beth Smidt, and Dee Wallace. Letters were sent to their families to let them know and invite them to worship.
  • As Lyonsville delegate, Nayna Byers attended the Illinois Conference United Church of Christ Annual Celebration on Zoom 10/19-22. Nayna attended several workshops (loved the one on "Faith and Tik Tok" and also "God's Creation and the Climate Crisis".) Also attended a number of worship experiences, keynote address, and 2 long business meetings, voting on conference slate of officers, and 2023 budget. With Conference Minister Rev. Molly Carlson on board, the Illinois Conference has been making great strides in improving financial practices, balancing the budget, and revamping the financial tracking systems.

We understand that combining three main precautions reliably leads to safe indoor gatherings: mask wearing, distancing, and ventilation. Our policies are consistent with guidance and requirements from local, state, and federal public health authorities and our wider United Church of Christ. As conditions change, we will continue to review and adjust these policies.
  • Throughout the building, masks are optional, but encouraged, for everyone two years of age and older, regardless of vaccination status.
  • As a courtesy to the welfare of all, please provide safe space to others.
  • Windows will be open to provide ventilation whenever possible.
  • Please do not attend in-person worship if you are experiencing any Covid-like symptoms
For the safety of us all, we request good-natured adherence to these policies. Thank you.
