Dia de los Muertos

Mindfulness and Gentle Yoga with Padma

Join us on Thursdays from 12:30-1:30pm on the Social Sciences Lawn for gentle stretching and breathing techniques facilitated by local yoga instructor Padma!

Yoga mats and high-quality headphones for music and instruction will be provided to the first 25 attendees.

ICW is a free overnight retreat hosted by College Nine and John R. Lewis College for students to bond with their community and engage in activities to develop intercultural sensitivity and awareness.

This year's retreat will take place November 19th-20th, at Happy Valley Conference Center in Santa Cruz.

Volunteer at the Harvest Festival!

Help facilitate activities for Calabasas Elementary students at the Harvest Festival on Saturday, November 5th from 9am-1pm! Transportation to Watsonville will be provided for the first 22 volunteers. Activities include arts and crafts, face painting, a corn maze, and more!

Inherent Tribal Sovereignty In Practice: Government-to-Government Relationships in California

Join the AIRC for the 26th Amah Mutsun Speaker Series on Saturday, November 5th from 1-2:30pm! Be sure to register to attend either via Zoom or in person at the UCSC Arboretum.

This year's speaker, Dr. Olivia Chilcote, will discuss how non-federally recognized tribes in California enact inherent tribal sovereignty via government-to-government relations with the state and argues this represents official state recognition.
