Art: "All Saints" by Elizabeth Wang
This Sunday, we will observe All Saints Day: a day the Church pays respect to those who have passed away - a day we collectively remember. While we are all experiencing very different stages of grief — some well healed, and some quite raw —  we will have the opportunity to love and support one another just as we are.

So come and bring your stories of joyful remembrance, bring your tears and laughter, and let us embrace one another knowing that we do not travel this road of life alone.
A note of gratitude to all who came to the Church Clean Up!

We organized closets, clean up cobwebs, and build a compost bin.
If you missed out, and would like to pick up a job that didn't get finished, there's a work sheet available in the fireplace room.
Blessings!
Pastor Denise
Two Spook-takular Sala nights in October!!

Join us tonight, October 27th, for pumpkin carving and a workshop on kitchen composting led by our very own Pastor Denise!

Sala is a bimonthly fellowship which is hosted by a member who shares their “knowing” with the group or coordinates an event for a most special evening. Refreshments are served followed by a guided meditation and then an activity or presentation/group discussion chosen by the host. Sala is an all inclusive, safe , sober, and beautiful space to feed one’s soul!  See you there. Details on the aforementioned evenings will be posted in upcoming newsletters. See you there!

I’ll be bringing back DVD night in November in honor of the Native American Heritage month.
The First Nations documentary Gather highlights the movement of Indigenous Americans to take back their cultural food sources previously denied them.
Please join me in learning more.

Thank you, Christ Congregation!

My heart is full from our time together on Oct 9, from the very special worship service with the voices of so many dear hearts to our conversations afterward over coffee and snacks. Thank you for coming, for staying, for listening, for sharing.

And if you missed any part of the day, both worship and the conversation are available to view. We also have a link here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QVFNYVN for the survey we worked on together. Please fill it in and send it back.
Each member of your household should have an opportunity to fill out their own.

"You are indispensable. We are insufficient without you.
We come to deeper wholeness when you are present."

Book Discussion Group

Hi folks,
Our book group will next meet this Saturday, October 29th, at 7:00PM, by zoom.

We will discuss Kristin Harmel's book The Forest of Vanishing Stars (356pp - 2021).

"The New York Times bestselling author of the The Book of Lost Names returns with an evocative coming-of-age World War II story about a young woman who uses her knowledge of the wilderness to help Jewish refugees escape the Nazis—until a secret from her past threatens everything.

"After being stolen from her wealthy German parents and raised in the unforgiving wilderness of eastern Europe, a young woman finds herself alone in 1941 after her kidnapper dies. Her solitary existence is interrupted, however, when she happens upon a group of Jews fleeing the Nazi terror. Stunned to learn what’s happening in the outside world, she vows to teach the group all she can about surviving in the forest—and in turn, they teach her some surprising lessons about opening her heart after years of isolation. But when she is betrayed and escapes into a German-occupied village, her past and present come together in a shocking collision that could change everything.

"Inspired by incredible true stories of survival against staggering odds, and suffused with the journey-from-the-wilderness elements that made Where the Crawdads Sing a worldwide phenomenon, The Forest of Vanishing Stars is a heart-wrenching and suspenseful novel."

 Bible Study has resumed!

Our Bible study has resumed, following the 10 AM services (2nd, 4th, & 5th Sundays).

Bible Study will begin about 10-15 minutes after the end of worship and will conclude by 12:15. It is discussion-oriented, and we welcome the input and insights of all participants.

Our discussion is based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the Sunday following the one we meet for the Bible Study.

We will not meet on Oct 30 because of a Stewardship planning meeting. Feel free to drop in on that if you're so moved!

Our next meeting will be Nov 13. We will spend time with the scriptures from the lectionary for Nov 20.

Peace, Bob
