Greetings from Wyler Antiques!

As we are approaching the month of November, we think of Thanksgiving and spending time with family and friends. And of course, that delicious Thanksgiving meal!! For that meal, we have a wonderful selection of Platters and Serving Pieces as well as for other occasions throughout the year.
This handsome Antique late 19th-century English Copeland Spode Platter is the perfect piece to begin our announcement. Dark orange leaves of the Geranium plant decorate the platter. This color definitely makes you aware that we are in the Fall season as well as looking forward to our Thanksgiving meal.
An exceptional and very unusual Antique 19th century English Well and Tree Platter made by the English pottery and porcelain company, Davenport. The juices from the meat run down the "limbs" of the tree into the well and can be used to baste the meat. Vibrant colors of rust, teal, peach, green, and blue, set on a white background definitely make one think of Fall.
A lovely early 19th-century Antique English Small Porcelain Platter. It is actually reminiscent of Chinese and Japanese Imari with its wonderful bold colors. The gilding is worn in some areas but otherwise, it is in lovely condition. For a small gathering, this would be the platter to use.
We are so pleased to have acquired this lovely pair of Antique 19th century Chinese Rose Canton Platters. Quite vivid in design and color, these platters are decorated with a center medallion. Pinks and greens are used as the primary colors with the addition of orange, yellow, blue, and black. These colors help show off the intricate workmanship. The platters can be purchased either as a pair or individually and will always look wonderful on the table.
An exceptional Antique 19th century American Silver Platter. The surface of this piece is plain and unembellished. This helps to show off the intricate geometric design which resonates throughout the border.
For all of these wonderful Platters we have in stock, one needs serving pieces. We will now mention several of them which will complement the platters mentioned above quite nicely.
A handsome Antique Victorian Silver Plate English Stuffing Spoon that is decorated in the 'Fiddle' pattern. Quite simple and elegant in design, this pattern was prevalent throughout the nineteenth century and is still quite popular today.
A very elegant George III Antique English Silver Marrow Scoop. During the Queen Anne and George 1st eras, marrow scoops were used to extract the marrow from the bone. Although marrow scoops are not used as they were in the 18th century, today they are used as a stirrer for drinks.
For anyone serving fish, a Fish Server/Slice is definitely needed. They were used for serving and dividing fish at a dinner table as they still are today. We have several different styles to choose from.

This intricately designed Antique 19th century American Silver Fish Server/Slice has wonderful detail work on the handle. It is in the 'Versailles' pattern and takes its name from the famous fountains of Versailles. The female figure at the top of the handle is holding a wreath.
This handsome Fish Server/Slice is 20th-century English Silver. The pattern is the 'Trifid' pattern which is very modern looking as well as quite elegant in design. It dates back to the 17th century.
Back in the 19th century, skewers were used for holding the meat at the table. We have 2 George III Antique English Silver Skewers but today, as times have changed, skewers are now used as letter openers and they look very handsome on a desk.
