Annual Awards Ceremony 2022

Dakota BUSINESS Finance celebrated another amazing year at its annual meeting last week. DBF had 65 loans approved in FFY 2022 for $59 million. These approvals account for 1,067 jobs being created or retained. Thank you to all of our partners for helping make this a fantastic year!

Awards

Lender of the Year
First Dakota National Bank

First Dakota National Bank was awarded the 2022 Lender of the Year Award. This lender had the highest number of loans with Dakota BUSINESS Finance approved by SBA in FFY 2022. First Dakota National Bank and Dakota BUSINESS Finance assisted 14 businesses with securing SBA 504 loans.

Individual Lender of the Year
Travis Olsem

Dakota BUSINESS Finance awarded Travis Olsem of American Bank & Trust with the 2022 Individual Lender of the Year Award. This award recognizes the individual lender that had the highest number of loans with Dakota BUSINESS Finance approved by SBA in FFY 2022. Travis worked with Dakota BUSINESS Finance to assist five businesses with SBA 504 loans for a combined amount of $2,404,000 in financing.

Friend of Dakota BUSINESS Finance
Trisha Viss

Trisha Viss, former Senior Loan Officer at Dakota BUSINESS Finance, was awarded the 2022 Friend of Dakota BUSINESS Finance Award. In FFY 2022 alone, Trisha assisted 41 businesses with securing SBA 504 loans totaling over $37 million in debenture funding. Trisha recently took on a new role as the SBA Specialist in the Upper Midwest for First Interstate Bank. While we will miss her dearly at Dakota BUSINESS Finance, we look forward to working with her in her new role and seeing the impact she will have.

Luke Garry of American Bank & Trust was the lucky winner of the 2022 Lender trip to Las Vegas.

SD SBA 504 Lender of the Year
Dakota BUSINESS Finance

Dakota BUSINESS Finance was recognized by SBA SD District Director, Jaime Wood, as the SBA 504 Lender of the Year in South Dakota for 2022. Dakota BUSINESS Finance was the #1 CDC in South Dakota for both dollar volume and loan volume.

Rural Initiative Community Lender Awards

Dakota BUSINESS Finance is committed to giving back to the communities that it does SBA 504 loans in. In 2019, Dakota BUSINESS Finance established the Rural Initiative Community Lender Awards. Prizes are awarded based on the number of SBA 504 loans approved with Dakota BUSINESS Finance in the federal fiscal year per community. Communities of less than 50,000 are eligible to participate.

The City of Tea was awarded 1st place in South Dakota with four SBA 504 loan approvals for: Auto Dynamics, Tea Trailblazers, Benson's Lawn and Landscaping, and Design Crete.

The City of Brandon was awarded 2nd place in South Dakota with three SBA 504 loan approvals for: Barks & Rec, Quality Inn, and Grand Fun Alley Learning Center.

The City of Arnold's Park was awarded 1st place in Iowa with two SBA 504 loan approvals for: The Boonedocks and The Inn Hotel.

The City of Larchwood was awarded 2nd place in Iowa with two SBA 504 loan approvals for: CHUDS Pub and Grub and Agile Manufacturing.

The City of Balaton was awarded 1st place in Minnesota with one SBA 504 loan approval for Lucas Erickson Farm.

The City of Worthington was awarded 2nd place in Minnesota with one SBA 504 loan approval for ABRA Auto Body & Glass.
