Hope's annual opportunity is ongoing.
Each fall at Hope there is a special opportunity to donate to local, regional and international charities. Local donations will be given to the PG County Plaza Day Center/Churches United for Compassion and Empowerment (CUCE), regional donations to the Lutheran Immigration/Refugee Services and international donations to the Lutheran World Relief/Middle East Fund.

Please specify which organization you would like your donation to be sent to; unspecified donations will be divided equally between the three. Checks may be placed in the offering basket or mailed in. You may also give online through our regular online giving link.
Thank you in advance for sharing your blessings!
Mark your calendar! Aaron and Matthew to wed

Matthew and Aaron are excited to share that they are planning to be married at Hope on November 27, 2022. Matthew and Aaron are so excited to be married in this church that they consider home. They ask for your prayers for a long and fulfilling marriage.
500 Year Anniversary!
This year marks the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s September Testament, a translation of the New Testament into German. What impact did this have on the culture and people of his time? What are the key challenges of making a first century Greek text understandable and relevant to a 21st century audience? And why is it essential to continue making the Bible accessible to people of different languages and cultures today?

Two Scripture scholars recently discussed these questions in the opening presentation of a webinar series hosted by the Lutheran World Federation. The Rev. Dr. Sarah Hinlicky Wilson is associate pastor at Tokyo Lutheran Church in the Japanese capital and a visiting professor at the Institute for Ecumenical Research in Strasbourg, France. The Rev. Dr. Jean Koulagna is the director of the Ecumenical Institute of Theology Al Mowafaqa in the Rabat, Morocco.

The webinar was moderated by the Rev. Szabolcs Nagy, a doctoral student at the Evangelical Lutheran Theological University in Budapest, Hungary. He’ll be hosting the next edition in this Bible Year series on November 8th, exploring the theme “Understanding the Bible.”

TIL (today I learned) about the Mission Investment Fund

Grow the church while growing your savings with the Mission Investment Fund

Here’s a special opportunity just for ELCA members and ministries: Invest with the Mission Investment Fund and earn as high as 3.85% APY.* That’s not even the best part. In addition to earning a great return, your investment will fund loans to ELCA congregations and ministries, expanding their capacity for service. Whether that means building or renovating a sanctuary, soup kitchen, day care center or other facility, one thing is for sure: you're helping share God’s love with the world.
