Reflection Section
An impression from Pastor Alvin
It is good to reflect on all God is doing in our lives. Reflection allows us to be thankful for God’s grace. As we remember the lessons from Daniel 5, reviewing also challenges us to see God’s hand in our lives. Recently, Pastor Mark and I were blessed by a godly couple, who exemplified God’s continuing grace.
As we conversed with this dear brother and sister, every aspect of our discussion was turned to Christ. “How do you keep busy these days?” Asked Pastor Mark. “I paint crystals, but the most pleasurable moments come from my time in the Scriptures,” the sister replied. “I am reading a book on hope,” said the brother. You could hear it, feel it, and see it. This couple had a clear perspective of the Lord who walks with them. Their reflection on who the Lord is – allowed them to have great hope.
“Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently” (Romans 8:24-25). We should evaluate yesterday anticipating that God will do even greater things tomorrow! Are we motivated to serve Christ because of His great love? Yesterday may have been complex or challenging, but God is always at work for our good. So, there is always hope, an anchor for the soul.
