Principal's Message
Dear O.H. Anderson Students and Families,
We value your partnership in educating your children. We have posted our O.H. Anderson Curriculum Informationon our website or you can click here to access it!
This will give you a look into our school, curriculum, expectations, and how to support your child. Teachers have created videos that you can view at a convenient time to learn about OHA. Also, check out the OHA Family Guide to learn the focus for each grade level in reading and math and how you can support them at home.
Our goal is that all students bring home their Independent Reading Book folder each night and read for 20-30 minutes each night to create a habit and stamina for reading.
We also need your partnership with student behavior. Our Zephyr Learner Values are Respect and Responsibility. We have had too many Fix It’s and Majors this month with disrespectful words and actions. Recess and the bus are the areas we need to work on. We need to solve our problems with our words. We use Stop, Walk, and Talk. Please check out this video and ask your child to role-play it with you.
Here are some questions to discuss during dinner:
How are you respectful at school and home?
What does respect look and sound like on the bus, at recess, in the lunchroom, and in the hallway?
What do you do if someone is not respectful to you or another student?
What is a goal for you to continue to help myself and everyone be respectful and responsible at OHA?
We appreciate your partnership in supporting learning and behaviors at OHA.
Take care of yourself, your family, and each other.
Important dates and information you need to know this week
Principal Roundtables- This is an opportunity to have an informal conversation with Mr. Briske and Ms. Prather about current topics happening in your elementary schools. We will have treats available and we look forward to an informal discussion about what we do at WW and OHA. Click on the following image to RSVP
Halloween- Halloween falls on a Monday this year. Please know that at WW and OHA students do not wear costumes to school. Also, please do not send candy to school. We want to maintain our routines at WW and OHA.
Cop Kelly Cares About Kindness
We have started a new kindness project. How it works is when a staff member recognizes a student showing kind behavior, they will enter their name into a drawing located in the main office. On the third Monday of every month, one name will be drawn for OHA. Notification will be made to the student's family. If they choose to accept the reward, they will get a ride to school in Deputy Olson’s squad car and will be awarded on the third Wednesday of the month.
District Curriculum Advisory Committee- I'm looking for 1-2 parents from OHA who may be interested in this committee. The commitment is 4 meetings for the remainder of the school year. All meetings are on a Thursday and run from 5:00 - 6:30 pm at the DEC. Your role will be to give feedback on a variety of teaching and learning-related topics throughout the year.
Thanksgiving Support- St. Andrew's Community Resource Center will be giving away Thanksgiving vouchers again this year. Each voucher is good for a frozen turkey and all the fixings to make a Thanksgiving meal.
Pick-up will be on November 17th and they can pick one of the three-time slots that day. Here's the link to the online form families can fill out to get a voucher. You must be sign up by November 1.

The PTO Snow Fun Run was a fun way to celebrate movement, have fun, show teamwork, and earn money to support our school. With the first snow, we had a blast! Thank you to all our volunteers and our fabulous PTO ~ OHA Staff
We would like to invite you to celebrate a teacher or staff member who went over and above or always shines bright. Please fill out a Zephyr Celebration Form. I will deliver the kind wishes to them.
