The topic was how wood is processed and graded and my guest was Pacific Rim Tonewoods. General manager, Eric Warner, talked about the steps in processing the wood from a tree to a finished soundboard ready to be used on an instrument. David Olson talked about how they test the soundboards and their sonic properties using formulas pioneered by Australian luthier, Trevor Gore.
