If you were not able to tune in to my latest Shop Talk Live Stream yesterday here is the replay link.
The topic was how wood is processed and graded and my guest was Pacific Rim Tonewoods. General manager, Eric Warner, talked about the steps in processing the wood from a tree to a finished soundboard ready to be used on an instrument. David Olson talked about how they test the soundboards and their sonic properties using formulas pioneered by Australian luthier, Trevor Gore.
As is the custom, we had some giveaways during the Live Stream. Lucky winners will be receiving hoodies and coffee mugs from Pacific Rim Tonewoods.
For those that didn't win or were not able to tune in to the live stream, you can get 10% off at Pacific Rim Tonewoods until Nov. 9 using the promo code LUTHERIE at checkout. Also be sure and checkout the Pacific Rim Tonewoods website. They have some very informative videos about how they do their testing and wood processing.
I also talked about some specials that LMI and Stew Mac are having currently. LMI is currently offering 25% off their second grade ebony fretboards and bridge blanks. Sign up for their newsletter to learn about their weekly specials. Stew Mac is offering 15% off any product for a limited time.
