How AI Poops Rainbows

Voice assistants, self-driving cars, medical diagnosis: the areas of application for artificial intelligence are already diverse today. Especially as tools that make our work easier. For some, it is inconceivable that AI will open up entirely new doors in creativity. But it is happening. The picture below was created by the AI DALL-E with just a few words from me. I write about it here.

AI can already create not only images, but also videos, newspaper articles and entire books. A danger for art, for artists and creative people? Or an enrichment as a new tool that will give us more art and beauty? What do you think? Is AI killing art and creativity? Let me know and send me an email.

Food!

A few weeks ago, German TV channel Servus TV's P.M. Wissen documentary was filming in the San Francisco Bay Area and we visited a few food startups.  One of the topics was alternative meat. Did you know that in the U.S., 40 percent of arable land is used to grow food for farmed animals? Aside from this huge use of resources, which actively contributes to climate change, you can't forget about animal suffering.

Behind the scenes with Servus TV

That's why we visited startups that produce animal products from plant-based substitutes (milk, cheese spreads, beef, eggs) on the one hand, and cell-cultured meat on the other. In this process, cells in the form of hair or feathers are taken from a chicken, pig or cow - the animal itself doesn't notice - and the cells are allowed to grow into meat in a reactor. Without hormones, without antibiotics, under sterile conditions without harming any animal.

And I then tasted that on camera. What the startups and I say about it and still describe as further visions thanks to this revolution in the food sector can be seen on Servus TV on November 23. Mark the date!

The Countdown Is On!
2 Weeks - 1 Promise - 1 Coffee

In 2 weeks (yay!) my newest book will be in bookstores. CYBERF*CKED addresses a very pressing issue, that of online harassment and online threats, specifically those experienced by women at the hands of toxic men. However much one may disagree with a female politician, pundit, journalist, CEO, doctor, or influencer, no woman deserves the threat of sexual violence, stalking, or death threats.
Cover CYBERF*CKED

Now that is exactly what women are confronted with day in and day out, whether they take on a public role or not. And the ways in which women are insulted, harassed, and threatened are varied and not always readily apparent to outsiders.

What is happening here is a problem for all of us and especially we men are called upon to become Upstanders, Allies or Activists and as men confront these toxic men and make sure that our society, democracy and legal system finally take this toxic phenomenon seriously.

Therefore my request to you: buy the book, understand what is going on and why this is so problematic, and become active. I also promise you the following: if you have bought the book and rated it on Amazon, for example, then I invite you to a chat over coffee or tea and sign the book for you. Deal? Then send me an email so that we can make an appointment! I would like to thank you in advance.

BTW: this book is in German, but I am working with publishers to also have an English version soon.

This book and all my other books are available on Amazon, from the Plassen and Beck publishing houses, or from your favorite bookseller. They are even available as ebook here, for example.

Oktoberfest, Travels and More

The Oktoberfest was as beer-soaked and crazy as you'd expect. The Munich Knödelei was the place where our friends from the automotive supplier Siebenwurst had invited us to stuff our bellies with pork knuckles, dumplings and sweet Kaiserschmarrn and wash it down with liters of beer. After two and a half years of pandemic, it's nice to meet people in person again and spend time with them spinning ideas. And of course in Lederhosen and Kalmuck (the checkered jacket).

Why I have this costume? For those who don't know: I was a folk dance musician for twenty years - since my childhood - playing the hammered dulcimer together with my brother and later a Tanzlmusi to the dancers:inside. And yes, I still fit into the leather pants from back then, even if they are a bit tight. They must have shrunk over the years.

Oktoberfest 2022

At the end of January I will be back in Europe (here is the more detailed schedule). If you want to meet over a coffee (or beer), please email me.

October Greetings from California!
