We do this because we understand the complex and interlocking matrix of issues that impact the quality of education America’s 74 million school children receive. 

And we know how important it is that we convey this understanding to you, whether you’re a parent, a teacher, a policymaker or just a concerned citizen who cares about our kids' futures.

When we launched our nonprofit news outlet 7 years ago, we made a firm commitment to provide our coverage free to anyone who wants to read it. And we’ve built a vast distribution system that reaches over 8 million readers each year. 

But just because it’s free to read, that doesn’t mean The 74 is free to produce. We need YOU, our most loyal readers, to be part of our support network. A recurring gift of $15 a month would be hugely helpful. Or, we’d be grateful for a one-time gift of $250 or $300.
