MTSS/CS CoP Series: Hold It All, Together—Session #1
In this year's Community of Practice, Ali Hearn, LCSW will lead a free four-part event series, highlighting aspects of supporting the social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs of students, staff and families.
There is no one "quick fix" in this work and no one person can do it alone. Ali will help us dig deep and explore how to "Hold it All, Together". In the spirit of learning and growing together, each session will also feature designated time for "fireside chat" style technical assistance with Ali. Upon registration, participants are encouraged to share goals and concerns to help guide the discussion.

Let Us Dream Conference
Binghamton 2022
The world is facing significant challenges including the socioeconomic impacts of an international pandemic, political polarization; calls for social justice, impacts of climate change and war. What are the forces that shape these interconnected issues, how do they impact us and how do we move forward as individuals and on the community level?
Anyone who is actively supporting and strengthening the community through their work knows the feeling of being overwhelmed and challenged. Join us for an engaging dialogue focusing on:
- How humans react to change and pressure;
- How we can overcome resulting divisions in social, medical and educational spaces;
- Discover what research tells us about the human brain’s reaction to trauma and stress;
- How that data impacts life on the community level.
The event is hosted by The Institute for Justice and Well-Being, Let Us Dream, the College of Community and Public Affairs, SUNY-Broome Community College, Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton University Community Schools and the NYSED Central/Western Region Community Schools Technical Assistance Center.
**Free for community members; rates vary for students seeking Contact Hour credits

Cultivating Authentic Relationships: Youth Voice
Understanding the gifts each student brings to school is key in cultivating authentic relationships. How do you approach youth involvement and engagement? What spaces exist to translate their voice into action? The best way to engage young people is to get them tangibly involved.
In this session, participants can expect to:
- Explore frameworks that support youth engagement efforts
- Discuss tangible practices that amplify youth voices within schools and communities
- Share challenges and promising initiatives with colleagues
Please be ready to engage in conversation with your peers and we hope you’ll join us for the after-party. When registering, please submit a recurring challenge, which we may use to crowdsource solutions.
