Come along and learn about direct seeding

We are pleased and proud to announce our project 'Community conservation in the Tarwin Valley' has been funded through the 2022/23 Victorian Landcare Grants.

One of our community projects is a direct seeding of understory into a remnant in Middle Tarwin.

SO - we are getting on with it and planting our seeds NEXT THURSDAY 3RD OF NOVEMBER. Direct seeding is successful when all the planets align, mainly suitable weather.

This year is perfect; the soil is moist and the weather will be mild we hope for the next few months allowing the seeds to sprout and grow.

We have moved swiftly since the grant announcement getting the area prepared and the seed ordered and collected from the South Gippsland Seedbank.

We are holding a pop up farm walk so you can take part and learn about direct seeding and preparing the site and the seeds. Come along if you can. We look forward to seeing you!

As we are doing it anyway no need to RSVP just come along if you can. Please bring clean boots for biosecurity reasons. Please park on the road side and we will take you to the reveg site.

The farm gate is on the top of the hill on Haws Road, just before the ‘Harea Mai’ entrance gate, please park safely on the side of the road.
