Funeral for Freda ‘Russ’ Morgan - RIP

The funeral for Freda ‘Russ’ Morgan will be at Dunsden Church on Tuesday 1st November at 11am. The family have invited everybody back to The Crown, Playhatch, after the service, but please let Robert know if you plan to attend so they can manage the catering.

At Russ’ husband, Norman’s funeral, Christine Bland kindly spoke about her memories of Norman and the family. If anyone from the Dunsden congregation would like to do the same, or have memories they would like read out on their behalf, please contact Robert.

Funeral and memorial service for Phillip Needham - RIP

Phillip's funeral will be at Reading Crematorium on Wednesday 2nd November at 11.30am, followed by a celebration of his life. Please let Pat know if you would like to attend. A webcast of the service will be available, please ask Leigh for the details.

A memorial service will be held at Harpsden Church on Tuesday 8th November at 2pm with refreshments in church after the service, to which everyone is welcome. Donations to Médecins Sans Frontières or the Wulugu Project may be sent via this link.

All Souls Service - Wednesday 2nd November

Our service to remember the faithful departed, to which everyone is welcome, at Shiplake Church at 7pm on 2nd November. Refreshments will be served afterwards. If you would like the name of your loved one remembered at this service, please put their name on any of the lists that can be found in all the churches in our Benefice.

‘Create for Christmas’ Half Term Activities - Thank you!

A huge thank you to everyone who made this week’s Christmas activities such a success. The Ark and Shiplake Church - including the bell tower - have been hives of activity, thrumming with energy and it’s been a joy to watch the creativity across the generations. Lots of smiles and laughter and requests that we do this again in the February half term, looking towards Easter. So let us know if you’re interested in helping, or have a craft or activity you’d be interested in sharing, and put it in your diary.

Choir Practice at Dunsden

Margaret and Adrian Fish are leading a weekly, informal choir practice at Dunsden Church to encourage new voices and to learn some new music. If you like singing and are interested in joining in, just turn up at 11am on a Saturday at All Saints Church.

Join us to ring

Our handchimes group is open for the students of Year 2 or above. The children will have the opportunity to learn simple tunes, increase their musical knowledge, learn how to work as a team but, most of all, have a lot of fun. 

We are holding a weekly rehearsal each Friday at 4:30-5:30, starting from 9 September 2022, in The Ark (behind Shiplake Church). There are a limited number of places available; to ensure a place, please email me your child’s name and year group, and your name and contact number.
