SPOTLIGHT: Leir Migration Monitor
Looking for an even deeper dive on migration? The second Leir Migration Monitor, our monthly migration-focused newsletter with analysis and research from the Leir team, went out yesterday. Update your email preferences to make sure you don't miss the next one!
LEIR EVENTS
The Leir Institute, in partnership with social research firm Decodis, will host a brown bag discussion with Senior Sociolinguist Derry Moore. Moore will discuss the innovative sociolinguistic methods used in Leir and Decodis's new project, Digital Portfolios of the Poor (DPP). DPP's tech-led methods enable researchers to conduct qualitative research remotely and at scale, giving respondents the space to talk in their own language and dialect. Moore will elaborate on the sociolinguistic methods used to analyze voice recordings of participant responses and how they elicit insights.

Join the Leir Institute for the public launch of Digital Portfolios of the Poor, led by Leir Senior Fellow, Dr. Daryl Collins. The event will feature a brief presentation about the program, its innovative methodology, opportunities for student engagement, and a Q&A session with the DPP team.

DPP's goal is to understand gendered differences in the digital lives of the poor in order to improve the effectiveness of products developed by digital financial service providers and the overall digital enabling environment for low-income people, especially women.

Food will be provided.
