All Saints Sunday | Pastor Installation | Ministry Affirmation
Sunday, November 6
BOTH WORSHIP SERVICES
“For All the Saints: Marching In the Light of God.”
A powerful All Saints Sunday is planned for November 6. As a congregation, we will remember those members we have lost this year and reaffirm our place in this great cloud of witnesses that continues to tell the story of Jesus Christ.
Rev. Dan Kuckuck, Assistant to the Bishop of the Southeastern Iowa Synod of the ELCA, will be with us as we install our pastoral team, lift up our leaders and staff, and call upon the congregation to continue the work of those who have gone before us.
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us..."
Hebrews 12.1

Collection For Ukraine Relief
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) has launched a call for donations to support the churches and people of Ukraine, who are fleeing their homes and seeking shelter, basic necessities such as food and water, following Russia’s military invasion of the country.
LWF General Secretary Rev. Anne Burghardt said this “support is vital for people desperately seeking shelter from the gunfire and bombing. Every donation counts.”
Lutheran Church of the Resurrection will collect donations and forward them to Lutheran World Federation. Check and cash donations can be dropped off at the church - please mark "Ukraine" in the memo. You can also donate online using our "Donate" button - select "Ukraine" in the dropdown, or Venmo to @resurrectionlutheran; comment "Ukraine."
Since we started collecting money, our congregation has raised over $10,300 for Ukraine relief. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. You can stay up to date on Lutheran World Federation Activities by following their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/lutheranworld

Other Notes
"The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it." —Psalm 24:1
What is a faithful Lutheran response to Earth's changing climate and worsening natural disasters? How do we think about this crisis as people of faith, and what are we called to do?
After hearing requests from across the church for guidance, the ELCA Church Council in November 2021 authorized development of a social message on climate care. Social messages are ELCA social teaching documents on specific social topics; these documents shape ELCA policy and help members discern how to respond to an issue.
A draft of the social message "Earth's Climate Crisis" is now posted for public comment! Feedback of this kind helps the drafters know how the document could be more clear, helpful and faithfully Lutheran. Please read the social message draft and use this survey to share your input by Friday, Dec. 2. Questions or longer responses can be emailed to draftsocialmessage@elca.org.
