I hope that each of you had a great week! I first want to thank you for all your help and support for our combined spirit week, annual county fair and homecoming! These events would not be possible without each of you. In addition, I want to remind you of several events taking place over the next few weeks:

November 6-10
The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) serves as the accreditation agency for Lakeway Christian Schools. We are required to conduct a self-study, and go through a rigorous review process every 5 years to ensure we remain accredited. During this review process an onsite visit from ACSI is required. The ACSI team will be on each of our campuses November 6-10. We are excited to complete this process.

November 10-12
The Lakeway Theatre Department is proud to present The Wizard Oz on November 10-12. Our students, faculty and staff have been working hard preparing to perform this classic. Each time I can swing by practice or speak with a cast member I become more excited to watch the show. I would love to see you there! You can get tickets at LakewayTix.com.

December 18
The Very Merry Christmas & More Tour Featuring NEWSONG and Francesca Battistelli is coming to the Lakeway Performing Arts Center! My favorite time of year on campus at Lakeway and Cornerstone has always been Christmas. It is a tremendous honor and privilege to study and celebrate the birth of Jesus with your children. I hope that you make plans to attend this concert as we celebrate Christmas together through song. You can get tickets at LakewayTix.com.

Roaring Robotics Tournament Volunteers

Lions Roaring Robotics is looking for volunteers for the LCA Fall Robotics Tournament on Saturday, Nov 5^th

Any LCA students looking for service hours can volunteer by contacting Jeff Hubbard or signing up at the link below. The following positions are open: Scorekeeper, Field Setter, Judge etc.. (Any 18 yr. old or older can serve as a judge).

There are 2 shipping options. If you ship to organization, the product will be shipped to the school the week after Thanksgiving. If you select a band student from the drop down, during checkout, we can make sure the fruit is delivered to the right family. Deadline to order for this option is Nov. 11.

The other option is ship to recipient. There is a $9.95/box shipping fee but the deadline to order is Dec 11. Product will be shipped before Christmas.

Talented and Gifted Program Registration Open Now

Sign-ups for the Walters State Talented and Gifted Program (T.A.G.) for 2023 are open now!

This program consists of a wide variety of instructional courses for students in the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades offered on Saturdays in the month of January 2023. The courses focus on hands-on learning and active verbal participation geared toward enriching gifted students. A breakdown of the program and the courses offered is available online on the Walters State website.

The deadline for registration is December 12, but course options are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The sooner a student registers, the more likely they are to get their desired courses.

LFA Volunteer Spotlight

Each week we want to highlight members of our Lakeway Family Association who donate their time and effort to make Lakeway such a great place to be. This week we're especially thankful for Becky Sisk!

My name is Becky Sisk. My husband, Wesley Sisk, and I have 5 children. My oldest twins, Savannah and Mitchell attend college at Texas A & M. Our middle boys, also twins are Juniors at Morristown Hamblen West HS. This is our youngest son, Matthew's first year here at Lakeway.

I grew up in Central America as a missionary kid and moved to Texas to attend college. I met and married my wonderful husband (a born and bred Texan) and imagined I would live the remainder of my life there. Throughout my career I have worked with young children in private Christian schools and in child care. Most recently owning and directing non profit Christian child care facilities. God recently led our family to Tennessee. I am very excited about the opportunity of being a part of this ministry and look forward to what God has for our family here!

I have always been profoundly thankful for the people that God has placed in our lives to partner with us in encouraging, inspiring, instructing, and otherwise meet the needs of our children! It is my desire to help teacher in every way possible, to enable them to do more than just instruct. Because caring for children and young people requires so much more!
