Tidepool Touch Table at Guerneville School
Bodega Marine Lab lent us a great batch of tidepool critters for Guerneville School's recent Día De Muertos event! There were 500 attendees and many well dressed children stopped by to interact with with the underwater marine specimens. Thanks to Steve, Shari, Suzanna, and our newest volunteer Bette for sharing the wonders of the tidepools with everyone.

Students join Trail Crew
Eleven Trail Crew Volunteers joined Scotty and Rachel in engaging a class of Sixth Graders from Guerneville School. Rather than take a bus the students hiked more than a mile from the school to Armstrong Redwoods. They cleared debris and reduce fuel loads along the main trails. Several sawyers cleared large sections of fallen trees and the kids spent a lot of time lopping and spreading branches. Several volunteer trails were blocked off and sections of fencing were repaired or replaced. Flora brought in a fresh batch of cookies which were shared with the students. Just what they needed for the long march back to the school after lunch.  - Rich Lawton, Stewards Volunteer Trail Crew Coordinator.

Trail Crew on the Coast
We had beautiful weather out at the coast today.  We split into two groups; one group went up the Pomo Canyon Trail to address a downed tree and four of us re-anchored Bill’s table more securely.  Someone had pulled up the other anchor and moved it.  Apparently, Scott came out after we left and installed another anchor to hopefully keep it from being moved again.  Then we moved up and installed water bars on the lower Pomo Canyon trail/fire road to prevent further erosion.  Cheers,  Mark.
Ten Volunteers headed out to several pressing problems on Sonoma Coast. Seems the Bill Bambrick Memorial table had been uprooted and had become very mobile. Took a section of chain (thanks Cress) and drove the anchor 3 feet into the ground. Scotty brought in a second anchor and secured the other end. Hopefully the table is well secured. One team headed up the Pomo Trail and cleared a downed tree partially blocking the trail. Crown was cut up and spread  out in-order to reduce the fuel load. Several other tree hazards were taken care of. The table team cleared the water-bars on the Pomo fire road from the West Red Hill/Pomo Junction to the Shell Beach gate at Highway One.

Addressing Climate Distress
December 10, 2022 from 10PM to 11:30PM
This is a free event! Climate distress is a valid response to our changing world. It can appear in many ways, including fear, grief, anger, helplessness, sadness, and numbness. This workshop will help us better understand the nervous system’s response to these changes and provide strategies to move us toward greater joy, self-awareness, and action.  Click here to RSVP
