New Features And Improvements

ENTRANT INTERFACE

ENTRANT ORGANISATION DISPLAYED IN MENU
Increasing numbers of entrants have multiple Nucleus accounts, across instances and even in the same instance. To assist entrants with identifying which account they have logged into, the name of their organisation can be included in the main hamburger menu. For more information about how to enable this feature read this guide.

REPORTS

PERSONAL DATA IN REPORTS
The GDPR functionality in Nucleus allows questions to be flagged as containing personal data. Any question that is flagged as containing personal data will no longer automatically be included in the entry reports. Instead, there is an admin override checkbox that must be ticked before the data will be exported. For more information about this feature and GDPR functionality in Nucleus review this guide.
SELECT ENTRIES TO INCLUDE ON THE ATTACHMENT DOWNLOAD

Previously, the attachment download exported assets for all entries within a given award. As the download can contain video files, the result is a huge file which takes a long time to generate and download, and is difficult to manage. Therefore, a new function has been introduced which allows admins to select the specific entries that they wish to export, vastly reducing the size of the zip file download. To find out more about how this process works please review the guide.

INVOICE BREAKDOWN REPORT

While the current finance reports export information for the full invoice, until now there has been no export process for individual line items on an invoice. Located in the Misc section, this report breaks down all the individual invoice line items, including discounts, and allows them to be filtered and exported. As this functionality is new the use cases are yet to be fully explored, so we are happy for clients to provide feedback about how this functionality can be expanded and used practically. For a full list of reports read the report guide.

PDF DOCUMENT UPDATES

CUSTOMISE THE LOGO ON FINANCE PDFS
Previously, the logos were hard-coded in Nucleus and developers had to update logos when they were changed. An option has now been added to the Design Controls page which enables Admin users to provide a logo, which will be used in all Invoice, Receipt and Credit note pdf files. For detailed instructions please review this article.
IMPROVED SUBMISSION PDF GENERATION
Nucleus uses a third-party programme to generate the submission PDFs. Recently the supplier stopped updating the programmes and the new design caused conflicts. The programme has now been replaced with another and the new design fully applied to the pdfs, providing a much clearer PDF document.

MEDIA LIBRARY UPDATES

For more information about how to use all of the Media Library features review this guide.
IMPROVED ERROR MESSAGING
Nucleus will now provide more specific feedback regarding the transcoding of video files. The system will now report if a video is corrupt or if there has been an error in the transcoding process. This will speed up the resolution of issues and reduce the number of support tickets.
MEDIA ITEMS LISTED BY NEWEST FIRST
In response to feedback from entrants, media items are now automatically organised by the newest created first in the entrants' Media Library. The rest of the sorting functionality remains unchanged, giving entrants a range of options to manage their files.
ALLOW DOWNLOAD CHECKBOX LOGIC UPDATED
The option presented to entrants that allows them to specify if their assets can be downloaded will now only appear if the instance allows download of video content in the Viewing Interface. If this is set to no, then the option will be hidden.A
MEDIA ITEM TITLE MAX LENGTH REDUCED
The max length of Media Item Titles is now set to 60 characters. This is to improve the display of titles within the Nucleus design.
IMPROVED MEDIA LIBRARY ERROR REPORTING
The Media Library will now return more sophisticated error messaging in automated emails, both on the Media Library list and on the admin entry form. This is helpful in order to keep entrants and admins better informed as to why a video has failed to transcode and to reduce the number of support tickets admins need to submit.
