Dear Faith Family,

This past week, we had our night of lights. We had host homes around the community in hopes of loving and getting to know our neighbors better.

We had an amazing response and a wonderful time. In the days ahead I know we will hear many more stories about how God moved.

At the house we were at, I was reminded that loving on people is how we will change the world. Loving on people can look like many different things. Last Monday, loving on people involved hot dogs, candy, costumes, juice boxes, fun, and games. Sometimes, it’s helping someone in need. Other times it’s just listening to someone’s struggles. One thing that is always the same, to love people you have to be around people. Loving people doesn’t have to always be perfect. Or pretty. Loving on people is how we share the love Jesus has for us. Jesus showed us how to love people. From the woman at the well, Zacchaeus, Peter, the sick, his own friends and family. Jesus loved on them where they were. It involves seeing people as God sees them. It doesn’t always mean staying in our comfort zone.

One thing I kept hearing throughout the night was “thank you” and “why are you doing this?”

Do you see what happens when we love people. They will ask us to share why we do what we do. They open the door for us to share our why. That’s when we get to tell them about Jesus.

Go love somebody today!

Collection boxes are in both the HUB and Worship Center. Monetary donations will be accepted, you may make checks payable to First Baptist Hewitt.

Families of all shapes and sizes are invited to join us on December 11th for an evening of Christmas caroling at Royal Manor Nursing Home.  Join us from 5 to 6 p.m. for a time of blessing the residents with the sounds of the season.

IMPACT WEEKEND - January 13-15

It’s that time again for one of our students’ favorite events, IMPACT Weekend. This year’s theme is TOGETHER. In our culture today, there is more division than there is unity. In all the division, the Gospel speak a profound truth: In Christ, we are united. We are together. We want to teach the students to embrace a Christ-Centered Community. We will be partnering with a few other churches in the area to encourage unity and togetherness in Christ. Those churches are Brazos Meadows BC, FBC China Springs, and Columbus Avenue BC.
