Bison Capture

This year's bison capture was a success! Last week, Refuge Staff finished gathering our bison herd to observe the overall health and welcome new calves. Using animal-centered, low-stress handling, the Refuge is able to work with natural bison instincts to calmly collect hair and tissue samples. The Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge is home to one of the most genetically diverse herds in the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service care!
