LIMMUDFEST IS BACK AND AS MAGICAL AS EVER!

LimmudFest New Orleans is a weekend festival of Jewish learning, arts, culture, and spirituality featuring 70+ sessions from local, regional, and national presenters. It is one of 80 Limmud learning fests held in communities around the world, from Peru to South Africa to Belarus, in which people of all ages, denominations, and levels of knowledge come together to experience Jewish community and learning. It is planned and run entirely by volunteers.
LimmudFest is not your typical conference. It brings together about 400 members of the local and regional Jewish community to learn for learning’s sake, to celebrate Shabbat, to eat together at four meals, and to schmooze. It builds community while expanding learners’ horizons. The interaction between presenters and participants — many of whom are presenters themselves — is one of the most thrilling aspects of LimmudFest.

Carla Friend: Founder and Executive Director of Tkiya

We are excited to announce that Carla Friend will be joining us at LimmudFest! She is the founder and executive director of Tkiya, an nonprofit organization that uses participatory music experiences to help thousands of families find their unique connection with Jewish culture and community. Carla and Tkiya are known as experts in the world of early childhood education and family engagement, but they also create programming for participants of all ages in communities across the country.
Carla is a 2018 recipient of the Young Pioneers Award from the Jewish Education Project, a 2019 recipient of “36 Under 36” from the Jewish Week (New York), graduated from UpStart Venture Accelerator’s Cohort 11, and is a JKids Radio artist.
