Dear Friend,

Along with our CEO Andrew Friedman and Dr. Molly Ness, I want to thank you for attending our “Reconvening of NYC Literacy Champions” event. Your participation provided engaging, thoughtful, and candid discussions that we believe will benefit NYC schools and the students you serve. During our last virtual event, one of our biggest takeaways was the need for a more comprehensive and deeper understanding regarding the Science of Reading.

During the in-person event last week, Dr. Molly Ness provided early access to her recent project titled "Beyond the Buzzwords: Brain Based Reading Glossary and Guide”. Carissa Berliner, District 26 NYC DOE AIS Coordinator, provided practical examples and use case scenarios, and outcomes when using the Science of Reading methodology. Dr. Susan Neuman, NYU, provided closing remarks, nicely wrapping up our event, drawing attention to our NYC students’ tremendous potential. Here are photos from the event as a keepsake and token of our appreciation for your attendance.

To learn more, please read Dr. Molly Ness’ Glossary and Guide. If you have any questions or comments feel free to contact me at gemdin@learningallyorg. We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Gina Emdin
