We love to share what we’ve been reading/watching/listening to/exploring! Here are Cynthia’s recommendations! (Note: Click on the title to get to our catalog record for the item.)

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabriel Zevin

This is a love story between Sadie and Sam, told over many years. They first meet in a hospital during their childhood, supporting each other through video games. Later in life, after college, they meet again while in Cambridge. While they find love (and incredible success) in their mutual interest in video game design, their creativity suffers when they're apart. Finally, they meet once more in an unexpected way. If you are at all interested in computer games (or love stories) then this one may be for you!

The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb

This mystery is Brendan Slocumb's first book. I liked the fact that he leaves his readers/listeners a note to tell us that many parts of this story came from his own life’s experiences, making it almost an autobiographical mystery.

Ray McMillan is a non-typical, self-made, black, classical musician from a poor rural southern area. Though Ray was under pressure from his family to get a normal job, he stayed true to classical music and even inherits his grandfather’s mysterious Stradivarius violin. Ray finds himself on the road to success but continues to battle racism. Just before his performance in a world class music competition, the Stradivarius is stolen. Who would do such a thing? Find out in The Violin Conspiracy!
