Welcome to the November issue of the Cambridge Library Reader. 
This month we're launching a new program (Games Day) AND a new collection service (Lightning Loans), keep reading for more info! 
Also, be sure to check out PLWA's last author event for the year; they're finishing off with a bang and are featuring one of Australia's most well-known authors, Nicola Moriarty (*we have a few of her novels in our collection, including 'You need to know'. Be sure to check them out!)

Join Nicola Moriarty and Paperbark Merchants' Billie-Jo Whitbread as they discuss the craft of writing as well as Nicola's latest novel 'You need to know'. This is a free event but bookings are essential and can be made online here.

Lightning Loans
A new way to borrow


Coming soon! One-week loans of our most popular new adult fiction books. There will be multiple copies of selected titles available for borrowing. Lightning loans CANNOT be reserved or renewed. Loans are for strictly one week only. Keep an eye out for the lightning bolt!
Athlete's Village Guided Walk Tour
Friday 25th November, 10.30 am


Join our Local Studies team for a guided tour of the 1962 VII Empire and Commonwealth Games Athlete's Village. Meet at Beecroft Park, Gayton Road entrance, opposite Empire Village Shopping Centre on Friday 25th November at 10.30 am. This is a free event, bookings are essential though and can be made in person at the Library, via email, call the Library on 9383 8999 or book online via Eventbrite.
'It's in the Bag' Collection 2022

'It's In the Bag' from Share the Dignity assists those in need by collecting thousands of period products and other essential items each year through their collection drives and campaigns and distributes them to people in need at Christmas time.

Library Staff contribute annually to this fantastic cause and this year, you can too! A collection point for goods is located at the Library and they be can handed in at the Customer Service Desk until Friday the 25th November 2022.

Congratulations to our Local Studies team!

Congratulations to our Local Studies Team for their contribution to an arts project about Lake Monger's buried colonial history which has won a prestigious award for its outstanding contribution to truth-telling in Western Australia.
Galup Art Project has taken out the award for significant contribution to the understanding of the Indigenous history of WA at the 2022 History Council Awards held on the 25th October 2022 at the State Library of Western Australia.
Games Day
Monthly, every 2nd Wednesday


Join us for Games Day at Cambridge Library, held once a month on every second Wednesday. Come along, challenge yourself and meet new people. This a free event. Bookings can be made in person, via phone: 9383 8999 or email us. Sessions commence at 11 am and run until 12 noon.
