Featuring: Jason Steiner, the CC Choir, Jonathan Carrell, the McCollough Trio, Beth Rowley, and Joanne Hardgrove!

Pastor Denise Carrell will share reflections on the Psalms, and communion will be shared.

 
  Saturday, Nov. 5 DVD night 7:00 p.m. in the comfy couch room.
I’ll be bringing back DVD night in November in honor of the Native American Heritage month.
The First Nations documentary Gather highlights the movement of Indigenous Americans to take back their cultural food sources previously denied them.

Sala Night "Forever Grateful"
 
The next Sala is the next week,Thursday November 10th at 7:30pm, entitled "Forever Grateful". A very Special Sala fellowship night. A gathering of family and friends for a night of mediation, music and imagination. An evening for sharing with each other all we are thankful for.

Our Stewardship Efforts 
 
Our team met this week and laid out a timeline for our concerted Stewardship Efforts for this fall. Within the group, we've taken on tasks of studying the submitted survey responses, writing the stewardship letter, calling folks for conversation, prayer and discernment, stuffing envelopes for mailing, submitting our own pledges, and following up. 
 
The timeline looks something like this (working backward!):
Nov 20 - Dec 18 Pledge cards returned to church
Nov 19 - Dec 17 Discussion at home about the letter and the ways each family/each person can give
Nov 18 - Stewardship letters and pledge cards get mailed to Church Community (in the actual mail!)
Nov 17 - Envelope stuffing event at church in the evening (join us!)
Oct 31 - Nov 15 Conversations about our feelings of connection to CCP.

Book Discussion Group
Our Bible study meets following the 10 AM services (2nd, 4th, & 5th Sundays).
 
Bible Study will begin about 10-15 minutes after the end of worship and will conclude by 12:15. It is discussion-oriented, and we welcome the input and insights of all participants. 

Our discussion is based on the Revised Common Lectionary for the Sunday following the one we meet for the Bible Study.

We will not meet on Nov 13 because of the Interfaith Service at Princeton University Chapel.

For comfort and healing for David's friend, Gail, who is undergoing cancer treatment.
With joy for Nancy's birthday this week. 
Gratitude for the love of friends.
Hope manifested in the planting of flowers.
For peace and diplomacy to prevail in the world.
For comfort and healing for all of our siblings who live with mental illness.
Continued prayers for discernment and grace for the Pastoral Search Committee and the Stewardship Team.
For the constant renewal of the energy and spirits of our church Council and leadership.
