Once again, and hard to believe, the current year is coming to an end. We trust it has been mainly a positive one for the majority of us. Not the case for some of us and we again take this opportunity to extend condolences to those who have suffered a loss. We are here to offer support and friendship, as well as a level of personal understanding.
It is December 1. We hope you reading this over morning coffee or tea and getting ready to attend our Clubhouse Christmas Fair today!!
Vendors and board members as well as volunteer members will be on hand to welcome you from 10:30 am until 15:30 pm.
Soon many of you will be heading to other destination countries where family members await your arrival. Or, they may be flying to you here in Switzerland. Wherever you find yourself this Christmas have a wonderful time of celebration and moments of quiet joy too.
Ringing in the New Year will have many of us wondering just what the new year will bring. Let us stay steadfast and positive and look forward to more sharing and caring with fellow members of your IWC.
Membership Matters corner – news, views, and welcoming new members.
Our last monthly meeting included a relaxed coffee morning for new members to the Club. It was wonderful that many of you were able to attend.
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS
Kelsey Lystang
Hello!
My name is Kelsey Lystang and my husband's job brought us to Switzerland last fall.
I am from Western Canada but lived in the United States (Chicago) for 5 years before making this move. Since arriving I've had family and friends come to visit, travelled as much as possible, and made many new friends.
I love to travel, read, cycle, and cook, and I'm always excited to try something new. I'm looking forward to all the new experiences Switzerland has to offer, as well as meeting all of you from the IWC.
We are always looking to recruit new members and would love to hear from you with possible ideas. If so please get in touch with us at membership@iwc-lausanne.org
At the end of the Club year, everyone who has introduced a new member will have their name put in a hat. The winner will be the recipient of a bottle of bubbly. Perhaps it will be you!

IWC LIBRARY NEWS!
For the club year 2022-2023, our librarian Leng will be delighted to welcome you either at a mutually convenient time (to be fixed via our email address), or the third Wednesday of the month at 2-4 pm (kindly confirm beforehand)
Some Guidance on Book Donations:
Thanks to the generous book donations of members past and present our library can now boast an enthralling collection of books, with themes ranging from the classics to the romantic, historical, crime/thriller, and sci-fi.
Not least, you can find Latin American and contemporary Asian authors waiting to bring you on interesting literary journeys, all nestling on our shelves.
However, as for the shelves, whatever enticing subjects they may contain, they are not extensible. This is why I would like to inform club members that we can only accept, from now on, paperbacks and not hardcover volumes, such as reference books, self-help volumes, and biographies on subjects not especially currently relevant.
Opening times: Every THIRD Wednesday of the month, from 2-4 pm.
