A Message from Mr. Gross:
Though Covid protocols change quite frequently according to evolving conditions and new research, there has been a recent update that is worth noting at this time - especially because we are experiencing a surge of infections within the Pacific community.
People who are symptomatic should self-isolate and test as soon as possible to determine infection status. They should remain in isolation while awaiting results. If not tested, they should continue to isolate for 10 days from symptom onset (day 0). If testing negative with an antigen test, they should continue self-isolation and retest with an antigen or PCR in 1-2 days. Continue to repeat test every 1-2 days for several days until testing positive or symptoms improve. If the result is positive, follow recommended actions for ending isolation after testing positive.
Stay well!
The Science Fair is quickly approaching and will take place this year on February 9th and 10th. The 9th will be for students to tour and come see all the awesome projects, and the 10th will be for judging. This will allow the 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Winter Break to begin projects and all of January to finalize them (whether they are whole class projects or individual student projects).
Thank you for your support! Please let Marcella or Dallas know if you have any questions.
All persons (students and staff) with COVID-19 symptoms, regardless of vaccination status or previous infection, should:
Self-Isolate and test* as soon as possible to determine infection status.
Remain in isolation while waiting for testing results. If not tested, they should continue to isolate for 10 days after the day of symptom onset (Day 0).
If testing negative with an antigen test, continue self-isolation and retest with an antigen or PCR in 1-2 days. Continue to repeat test every 1-2 days for several days until testing positive or symptoms improve.
If the result is positive, follow recommended actions for Ending Isolation after Testing Positive.
* Symptomatic persons who have tested positive within the previous 90 days, using an antigen test is recommended.
Sick? Stay Home
Symptomatic students still need to stay home from school. Please review the Student COVID Flowchart or the County Office of Education's current COVID rules for schools.
With this week's notable spike in cases, staying home when sick, washing hands, and testing are as important as ever. A winter surge has been projected, and this may be the start.
*The first school day of every month FoodLab will serve bean and cheese burritos.
In collaboration with our school, Las Palmas Rancho, the farm next door, will be receiving $150,000 of this farm to school award. We will be purchasing a van to transport students from the school to local farms. In addition, the funds will be used to build an outdoor classroom and a flatbed truck for the farm.
To the farm we go!!

Donation help needed!
We need donations of artwork, wine, and more for our two big fundraisers for silent auction Bid and Sip (formerly Art and Wine) on February 3, 2023 (Artwork will be displayed at the school in the office during the month of January) and donations for our big Bingo Night Raffle on April 21, 2023 are needed before we print off our raffle tickets in March. We have a donation letter if you know of a business that you would think make a great donation for our fundraising events. If you can donate towards either of these events, please emailpresident at pacificschoolfoundation.org.
Do you frequently visit a business? Maybe you can ask them to donate towards supporting our School! Local businesses will donate to support our nonprofit. We just need someone to ask.
We need help gathering donations for our last two next big fundraisers. Bid and Sip (Art and Wine event) and Bingo Night. Asking businesses early is the most effective way to get lots of donations!
Things to note:
Bid and Sip Donations will be displayed in January, the month before the event. So, donations can be gathered at schools starting in December and January.
Bingo Raffle Tickets are printed in March. Donations for the raffle that are gathered before printing deadline of March 10th could be printed on the actual raffle ticket if that is important to them.
