Happy Friday!

Hello <<First Name>>, is all well with you?
Geraldine's fascinating talk last week for the College of Psychic Studies on Moina Mathers was very well received.  She is speaking for them again on Frieda Lady Harris as part of their Tarot Weekend, happening this very weekend.  Charles Newington's pop-up exhibition here at the Shop has also been a success, and today is the last day if you wish to see his weird and esoteric images in the Gardner Room and perhaps make any final purchases.  We are fast approaching our Crowleymass celebrations on Thursday 1st December when we acknowledge the life and times (and death) of our most notorious author and customer, Aleister Crowley.  And a new exhibition by Hunt Emerson will be starting at The Atlantis Booksop soon....
Our top picks for the week are below.  As always, postage is quoted for the UK.  If you would like your order sent overseas, to a friend or reserved for you to collect in person, please just email me and I'll happily help.

A Spark In The Void
New edition - Revised and Expanded

***  Signed Copies ***
A real call comes from the depths of the soul; it is indescribable; it’s a vibration that resonates not only through the person but also through all that is around that person; truly a call to the far corners of the universe. It is also a reciprocal process and to those who state that this is a melodramatic overstatement, the writer replies, experience will show you otherwise.
The words in this book are written about magic and they are written in the way of magic. They come from the pen of one steeped in the inner way and will help both the seeker and student alike. A lifetime of experience has gone into every page and the writer is more than content to let the words speak for themselves. Rest assured, they will speak.
About the author - Len Roberts is one of the several remaining ‘first generation’ witches who trained directly with Alex and Maxine at a time some would say was the pinnacle of Alex’s teaching in the late 60s and early 70s. It is Len’s experience that Alex’s original teachings were not about witchcraft; rather, they were about magic, and it is in this vein he will impart knowledge that he gained and evolved through his own practice and experience. Crucially, he seeks neither to define ‘Alexandrian witchcraft’ itself nor compare the Alexandrian tradition to any other. For over half a century Len has remained in the shadows, shunning any form of public dialogue and only with the encouragement of his Guides did he publish the booklet A Spark in the Void in 2008 under the pen name Apawaae.

Casting Lots
Ancient Hebrew Divination Magic
Lots are an ancient Hebrew form of divination and magic. A set of lots contains twenty-two small discs with each one bearing one of the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet. In a manner similar to runes, these lots are then cast and interpreted. Though lots were once so common that explanations of how to cast them were unnecessary, over the centuries their methods and uses fell into disuse.
Author and seer Elisheva Nesher has reconstructed the ancient art of lot casting for modern times. CASTING LOTS contains explanations for each of the twenty-two lots, exploring their meanings, both mystical and mundane. It also includes detailed instructions on how to cast as well as craft your own set of lots. In addition to divination, CASTING LOTS explores the magical gifts of the lots, such as healing, blessing, and cursing, as well as how to use them to contact and interact with the Hebrew spirits, such as Asherah. (A brief guide is included for those unfamiliar with these spirits.)

Shadow Animals
How Animals We Fear Can Help Us Heal, Transform, and Awaken
We often project qualities onto animals that we don't wish to admit in ourselves. Thus, snakes are evil, spiders are creepy, rats are dirty, and so on. As Dawn Baumann Brunke explains, the animals we fear or dislike can help us to recognize our Shadow: the hated, abandoned, judged and denied aspects of ourselves. Because they are often identified with attributes of ourselves that we seek to disown, shadow animals offer excellent clues to what is obstructing the radiance of our inner light. As teachers and guides, shadow animals can help us to reclaim the inner strengths, abilities, and wisdom that we have forgotten or disowned.
Brunke explores the lessons of numerous shadow animals, including those that many think of as shadowy, such as snakes or bats, as well as those that only seem shadowy to some, such as dogs, cats, birds and horses. Though shadow animals may initially appear frightening, they offer profound healing and expert guidance in helping us identify, learn from and embrace our shadow selves. Brunke explains how shadow animals represent unexamined elements of the psyche--from secret fears and suppressed emotions to unacknowledged prejudices and repressed trauma. She presents thirteen animal-inspired exercises, each uniquely designed to help us find and better understand the lost, wounded pieces of our psyche and so begin the healing process of integrating our shadow selves.

Hermetic Philosophy and Creative Alchemy
The Emerald Tablet, the Corpus Hermeticum, and the Journey Through the Seven Spheres
Drawing on ancient Egyptian and Greek cosmogonies and essential Hermetic texts, such as the Corpus Hermeticum, the Emerald Tablet (Tabula Smaragdina) and the Nag Hammadi codices, Marlene Seven Bremner offers a detailed understanding of Hermetic philosophy and the art of alchemy as a foundation for a psycho-spiritual creative practice. Offering examples from traditional alchemical art and her own intricate esoteric paintings, Bremner examines the foundational principles of Hermeticism and alchemy and shows how these traditions are a direct means for accessing higher consciousness and true self-knowledge, or gnosis, as well as a way to extract the essence of one's own creative gifts.
The author takes the reader on a Hermetic journey through each of the seven traditional planets exploring their mythological, philosophical, alchemical, qabbalistic, magical, astrological and energetic natures and offering meditative discourses that reach past the rational mind to speak directly to the intuitive soul. She relates the seven planets to the esoteric anatomy of the human body, specifically the seven chakras, and shows how the planets can offer understanding and experience of archetypal energies and patterns in the body, in one's life and in the creative process.
A profound synthesis of magical and occult teachings as well as an initiation into the alchemical opus, this book reveals how to integrate and apply Hermetic and alchemical principles to awaken inner knowing, liberate the imagination, and live a mystical, creative and truly inspired life.

A Poet’s Tarot
From the Fool to the Ten of Swords, take a poetic journey through the land of tarot…
‘The day is perfect. The thousand little things that go wrong make it complete. The sea is littered with dead seaweed. On the beach, shoeless, you’ve just stepped on a glob of tar; its insistent pulp clings to your toes. But you don’t care. You accept the peskiness of the fly and the distraction of the mongrel sniffing your leg. Such is the world: always more beautiful than the perfect utopias contrived by your wishes.’ – The Poet’s Tarot – by Josep Miquel Sobrer
A revered text reproduced with the flare of Liminal 11! A Poet’s Tarot by Josep Miquel Sobrer is a wholehearted celebration of tarot, its history, sacred geometry, symbolism and archetypes. This book has been steadfast in the tarot community and an asset to those learning the craft.
Each card is lovingly researched and curated into a lyrical text that reveals distinct new ways of seeing the cards – as living stories. A Poet’s Tarot explores and celebrates the tarot characters, from aesthetics to personalities.
