Grow in Generosity - Pledge 2023
At Wesley Church, our life-changing ministries could not take place without your support. We are grateful for your generosity! It is our hope that you will not only continue that support in the coming year, but that you will also make a plan -- a pledge -- to do so. Pledging materials have been sent through the mail. We invite you to review them, pray about your plans, and bring (or mail) your completed pledge card to the church by Sunday November 20. If you did not receive pledge materials this year, please contact the church office.

Garden Ministry: Harvest 2022
The final totals are in! This year, the gardeners of Wesley Church provided 432 pounds of fresh produce to our friends at New Bethany Ministries. Many thanks to all who organized, planted, watered, weeded, and delivered produce to address food insecurity in our community. We are grateful for your efforts!

Through our giving trees, we support the work of area organizations that provide gifts and treats to children & youth, struggling families, and lonely seniors. To donate, take a tag from one of the trees, purchase the item(s) indicated, and return your donation to the church. For more information on our giving trees, please contact Debbie Ace.

Meals for BES
This year, our church will once again be supporting the work of the Bethlehem Emergency Shelter (BES) -- and you can help make it happen! Once each month, we provide hot meals, monitor the shower schedule, and offer a loving presence to the guests of the shelter. We will be serving our first meal on Monday November 21. We'll be at the shelter from 4 PM to 9 PM, but shorter shifts are available to fit your schedule. To get involved, please contact our coordinator Becky Hess.

Luminaria Night - December 10
Join us -- and neighbors from all throughout Bethlehem -- for Luminaria Night 2022! Luminaria night is a beautiful evening when we line neighborhoods and streets with luminaria (white paper bags with lit candles). All luminaria proceeds benefit New Bethany Ministries in Bethlehem. Since 1985, New Bethany has impacted over 140,000 lives by offering hope and support to people who experience poverty, hunger, and homelessness.
Help us join in the effort as we light up our church property with luminaria! Make a donation to purchase a luminaria kit (each $10 donation consists of ten white paper bags, ten votive candles, and ten cups of sand). Then join us on December 10 at 4 PM as we set up our luminaria here at the church.
To make a donation and purchase a kit, visit our church's luminaria order page.
For more information, visit our church website or contact our church's "block captain," Deb Silliman.
Luminaria Rain Date: December 17, 2022

From the Church Library:
We have more fiction selections available in the library. Check out these featured titles:
WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING by Delia Owens is a coming-of-age murder mystery that takes place in the coastal marshlands of North Carolina. Kya, the protagonist, who lives alone in the marshes, is known as “The Marsh Girl” by the local townspeople. Meanwhile, she survives by her wits and studies the plants and creatures that are her companions in this unique eco-system. Things get complicated when she begins to develop relationships with several people in town.
THE SHADOW LAND by Elizabeth Kostova - In a totally different vein, Alexandra, a young American woman, travels to Bulgaria to recover from the loss of her brother. When she accidentally acquires someone else’s luggage & finds in it an urn of human ashes, she sets off on a journey to return them to the family—which turns out to be a darker and more convoluted task than she anticipated.
