Dear <<First Name>>,
When Emma was just 6 days old, she was abandoned by her biological mother and left on the busy streets of Hubei, China. Thankfully, a passerby found her and took Emma to a shelter where she was put into the foster system. Emma shared that she was "lost, vulnerable, abandoned, and alone."
After getting adopted and moving to Florida, Emma grew up in the church but wasn't really interested in knowing God and was intimidated by the Bible. Being Asian with white parents was difficult - she was often teased and felt like an outcast for being different. Emma started to find fulfillment in her grades, sports, and popularity. But isolation and anxiety kept her from being fully known and at peace with others and God.
"When you don't have God in your heart, your life can resemble my first days on earth.
Abandoned and alone.
But when I really got to know Jesus, I realized that
I am loved and I am wanted."
After Emma shared her story, she and another student leader shared the Gospel with 200+ of their peers in the auditorium at Lake Howell High School. Twenty of those students started a relationship with Jesus that day!
If you know our Kate’s story, you see the parallels. As I read Emma’s story I am moved to tears longing for Kate to also know how much she is loved and wanted. Every student in that auditorium needs to know how much they are loved and wanted. Every student in every school. That’s what we’re going after.
As we continue to help students like Emma share her faith with her friends, we are trusting the Lord for the financial resources to keep us moving forward. Our monthly giving has fallen short of what we have needed this year. We are asking the Lord for an additional $15,000 in year-end giving.
Would you prayerfully consider giving a year-end gift of $200, $500 or some other amount to help us start 2022 financially healthy? If you choose to, you can give online at www.give.cru.org/0486004.
