God’s love is the hope of the world! Throughout the year, Sylvania United Church of Christ magnifies that love in word and deed, sharing it in unique and powerful ways.
During December you are invited and encouraged to contribute to our 2022 Special Christmas Offering.
The proceeds of this year’s offering will be split to both support our outreach ministries and the needs of our church.
60% will be donated to Grace Community Center:
Grace sees itself as an Urban Ministry. It was founded in 1969 by the United Church of Christ to serve the Toledo community. The needs of its community have increased dramatically over the last few years. Funding has not kept up with their needs. Any donations would be much appreciated.
40% will be used to fund much needed repairs & updates to our HVAC system:
In late August, the controller that operates the chiller for our air conditioning system and the boiler for our heating system failed. As a replacement unit is no longer available, we signed a work order for $10,972 authorizing installation of new equipment that we expect will be installed before Christmas. The repairs to our HVAC system along with recent repairs to our elevator, fire alarm, and sanctuary lighting systems are unbudgeted expenses that cannot be deferred. Again, any donations would be much appreciated.
