Events and Things to Do in Sanford
Who else is excited about Sofas & Suds this weekend? Whether you have been going for years or this is your first time watching couches race down the brick streets of Downtown Sanford, we know that the chances of FUN are 100% ;)
We are also excited about Theater West End's latest production, "She Loves Me"! Opening night is this Friday and we heard this musical makes for a perfect holiday date!
Opening this Friday is also the Asian Lantern Festival at the Central Florida Zoo! We have attended two times in the past and can tell you, it is magical every time!

November 20th: 2022 Sofas and Suds
What the hell is this? Sofas and Suds is a Couch Racing and Beer Chasing event taking place in Sanford, FL on Sunday, November 20th, 2022 (2-6pm). It will be local businesses pitting their racing outfitted sofas against one another to determine who is really the best at pushing a sofa up and down the street . . . or who is the worst but yet the crowd favorite. Duh.
Who is participating in the races? We are encouraging small businesses in (but not necessarily limited to) Sanford to field a couch-racing team and enter. You will be entered into a bracket-style (16 teams) single-elimination race format to determine couch-pushing supremacy.

November 18th- December 4th: She Loves Me
In this scented case of mistaken identity and letter writing, two feuding perfume clerks have no idea that they are in love.
An intimate and touching show, featuring music by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof) and book by Joe Masteroff (Cabaret), She Loves Me was nominated for five Tony Awards in 1964. The 1993 Broadway revival won the Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical and the 1994 Critics Circle Award for Best Musical.

November 18th-January 15th: Asian Lantern Festival: Into the Wild presented by Publix
One of the most anticipated and beloved holiday events in Central Florida is back! Asian Lantern Festival: Into the Wild presented by Publix will return on select nights from November 18, 2022 to January 15, 2023. The event features all-new larger-than-life hand-crafted lanterns lit by thousands of LED lights, resulting in a gorgeous display of color, light and sound celebrating traditional Asian lantern festivals. Don’t wait to buy your ticket! Last year, almost all nights hit capacity. Entry will require a separate ticket from normal Zoo admission.

December 3rd: 33rd Annual Sanford Holiday Tour of Homes
Celebrate the warmth and spirit of the season at the 33rd Annual Holiday Tour of Homes on December 3rd, 12 to 9 pm. On this self-guided walking tour, step into the past as you are welcomed into ten of the Sanford Historic District’s most charming private residences. The tour route begins at Holy Cross Episcopal (Celebrating their 150 years) and ending at Park on Park where an old-fashioned holiday marketplace showcases a treasure trove of unique gifts, music and food trucks.
As you follow the glow of luminaries down brick-lined streets, the sounds of Victorian carolers fill the air. Take in the ambiance and explore the history of the district's beautiful historic homes. NEW DATE! Friday, December 9th: Sanford Wine Walk
If you love great wine, the Sanford Wine Walk is for you! Wine tastings, shopping, fun with friends and you have the makings of a tasty evening in historic downtown Sanford. Join us from 6pm, 6:30pm or 7pm (depending on your ticket) until 9pm, and enjoy wines in designated tasting locations in and around historic First Street.
The Sanford Wine Walk, benefitting Theater West End, is a single-price admission event that includes a wine glass and printed guide to tasting stations positioned at local merchant locations. Each tasting station has a sponsored winery. A great night of wine and exploring historic downtown Sanford!
