Dr. Walker guides the audience through a journey of finding hope in a post COVID environment. Dr. Walker introduces the human experience of the pandemic as a foundation for the interviews. In the first interview, Zach, a student at Christopher Newport University, discusses how the COVID pandemic impacted his transition to school and influenced the relationships in his life. Zach shares that he is on the Autism Spectrum and explains how this impacts the way he views the world around him. Zach’s discussion focuses on the importance of friendships, finding your passion, and community. In the second interview Ashley, who began the journey of living on her own during the height of the pandemic, discusses how change transformed into opportunity. Ashley shares that she was born with DiGeorge Syndrome and explains what this means to her. Ashley’s discussion focuses on the importance of family, knowing your values, using your strengths and embracing change. During the Live Q and A, Dr. Walker will provide the audience with some specific strategies for finding hope and supporting successful transitions. Zach and Ashley will also be present to share their strategies and answer questions from the audience.
