Basilian Bicentennial
The Basilian Fathers are celebrating 200 years of service! To mark the occasion, we will be hosting a special Mass for the joint communities on Sunday, November 20th at 12:00pm. A special coffee hour follows the Mass.

On your next visit to St. Basil's, be sure to view the banner series commemorating the accomplishments of the Basilian Fathers.

Coffee Hour
Please note: As a result of the Basilian Bicentennial celebrations this week, there will be no 10:30am Coffee Hour. 

Instead, there will be a reception following the 12:00pm Mass. We hope to see you there!

Mystical Songs
Please note that the Mystical Songs concert originally scheduled for this evening has been postponed to Monday, November 28th, at 7:30pm.

Breaking Open the Word:
Join the St. Basil's Community for an hour of reflection and faith sharing on Zoom every Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., starting November 22. We will pray with the Sunday scriptures each week and grow in relationship with the Word and one another. Night Turns to Dawn

Friday, December 9th, 7:30pm

Join Musician-in-Residence Lindsay McIntyre and pianist Joel Goodfellow in a program featuring music for meditation by contemporary composers Rihm, Łukaszewski, and Jones, paired with classic reflections of winter and night by Schubert, Holst, and more. Concert admission is free, donations are welcome to St. Basil's music program.

Organ Concert

Friday, November 25, 7:30pm

The Royal Canadian College of Organists is pleased to present an organ concert featuring three of Canada’s top emerging artists and College award-winners. Aaron Tan, winner of the Canadian International Organ Competition; Martin Jones, winner of the Sir Ernest MacMillan Memorial Foundation Prize; and Manuel Piazza, winner of the RCCO National Organ Competition. 

Tickets ($25) are available online at www.rcco.ca  or at the door.

Prayer Opportunity: Vespers

Join the universal prayer of the Church! Vespers  (evening prayer) is prayed in the church every weekday at 5:10pm. This simple prayer offers the opportunity to end your day in reflection and gratitude.

Windows on Theology

Regis College has relaunched its non-credit Windows on Theology Continuous Learning Series. Beginning January 11th, Professor Susan K. Wood, SCL will present “Repair my Church”: Pope Francis as Carpenter. For six Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., the course will explore Pope Francis’s vision of a missionary church. Friars’ Writing Contest

Theme: “Do good; seek justice” (Isaiah 1:17)

High school students (ages 13-19 years) in the Catholic School Boards located in the Archdiocese of Toronto are invited to participate in this annual event that commemorates the global Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Write a five-hundred word essay that explores the 2023 theme. Great prizes await the top three submissions.

Students are encouraged to consult the resources at https://bit.ly/3AgBy5J to understand the meaning and purpose of the theme and address the focus questions
