Is Your Fitness Useful Or Usable? And Why It Matters.

There’s a very interesting nuance between calling a movement or drill “useful” and calling it “usable.”

Unless it’s bio-mechanically compromising to most human beings, or counterproductive to the physiological health or physical performance of a given individual, we can safely say that all movements are useful in some way or another.

However, they may not be directly useful in a real world context. For instance, a particular body-building drill using an exercise-machine may have undeniable strength benefits and be directly useful to the particular goal of body-building, but those will have only an indirect benefit to Natural Movement, and thus, real world fitness. read more

MovNat Sessions: 11/17/22

Session 1

Warm Up: 2-3 Rounds : Hold Position for 1-2 Breaths


Emphasis:

Clean : 3-4 Sets : 8x : Rest 2-3min


Combo: 3-5 Rounds

Session 2

Warm Up: 2-3 Rounds : Hold Position for 1-2 Breaths


Emphasis:

Perform each skill separately or in sequence. Adjust distances as necessary. 

3-5 Sets : Rest 1-2min

Inverted Crawl : 10m 

Hip Thrust Crawl : 5m


Combo: 3-5 Rounds

Session 3

Warm Up: 2-3 Rounds : Hold Position for 1-2 Breaths


Emphasis:

Option 1: Individual Sets : 2-3 Sets/skill : Reps as indicated : Rest 1-2min

Option 2: Perform a mix of skills for 45sec, for 1-2min : 2-5 Sets

Tripod Get Up : 3-5x/side

Figure Four Get Up : 2-6x alternating position each time

Squat Get Up : 5-8x

Advanced Option:

Single Leg Squat Get Up : 2-5x/side


Combo: 3-5 Rounds
