Dear Friend,
Thanks so much for coming out to join us this year. There is still more to come, and special opportunities to give back...
Prairie Volunteer Work Day
Saturday, December 3rd, 10 - 11:30 am
Prairie Restoration site, 4550 N 35th St
Thanks so much to the 15 volunteers who came for our last "Prairie Restoration Workday" under the supervision of Nearby Nature Land Steward, Mars Patterson. Now there is just a bit of work needed to prepare the site for winter and spring planting. You can sign up here or just come and join in at 4550 N. 35th St. We'll have all the tools & gloves ready for you. We're going to keep it short so as not to interfere with the Great Waters Group Holiday Party and Fundraiser at noon (scroll down for details).

No previous birding experience required. Hot Chocolate and binoculars provided. Register here for the event or reserve binoculars.
Nearby Nature Participating in Giving First Campaign
This year Nearby Nature is joining Giving First Day on November 22nd. So you can expect to see a special appeal from us then. This is a collaborative effort to ask our communities to think FIRST about non-profits that serve the community BEFORE Black Friday and the holiday spending season. So, support your local non-profits first. Consider a donation to Nearby Nature, but also share these thoughts and links with your friends, family and networks. Full info at www.givingfirstday.org.

Add Your Voice on Climate Change.
One of the biggest challenges of our lifetime is preventing the destructive effects of climate change. Add your voice to help determine priorities and challenge our local elected officials to act. A Joint City/County Task Force on Climate and Equity is asking for community input. Please Act!
We are very grateful for the foundation support we get from Fund for Lake Michigan, Greater Milwaukee Foundation, and the Pettit Foundation. We are especially grateful for the support we receive from individuals like you.
All contributions to Nearby Nature are tax-deductible through our non-profit fiscal sponsor the Milwaukee Environmental Consortium. Visit our website Donation page to learn how you can support this work.
