The deadline for the Initial Upload Phase for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 Longitudinal Systems Analysis (LSA) is today, November 18, 2022.
The primary purpose of this deadline is to identify and address any critical upload errors and ensure communities can login to the Homelessness Data Exchange (HDX) 2.0. Upload errors could be due to issues in the LSA export structure, the HMIS data, or import issues into the HDX 2.0. Continuums of Care (CoCs) still meet this deadline if the status of the preliminary upload is "rejected” by the time of this deadline. However, if this is the case, HUD recommends working with your vendor to resolve errors preventing your upload from being accepted during the data cleaning process.
Uploading your data to the LSA is distinct from submitting your data for HDX Team Review. The point of the Initial Upload Phase is to upload at least one Official HUD Review File to ensure that your data pass the initial upload error and format check. As mentioned, if your data does not pass this check you should work with your vendor to ensure that it can. Once you have successfully uploaded an Official HUD Review File to the HDX 2.0, you should make sure that it is as free of data errors as possible and has warnings that are comprehensively addressed with notes before submitting for HDX Team Review. This signals to your liaison to examine your dataset and give you feedback if there are outstanding questions.
You can find detailed information on the full LSA submission process in Chapters 3 and 4 of An Introductory Guide to Submitting LSA Data for the Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR).
