We are seeking feedback about Ed Studies student programming

In an effort to provide relevant, impactful, and accessible co-curricular program options for graduate students in Educational Studies, we would like to hear from current students about the types of programs you'd like us to provide. This survey will be open from November 7-30, 2022. Survey participants will be entered into a drawing to win $10 vouchers that can be used at any vendor that accepts BuckID!

Thanksgiving dinner at Ohio State – tickets available

Ohio State will host one of the largest Thanksgiving dinners on a college campus on November 23 at noon in the Archie Griffin Ballroom at the Ohio Union. The annual event brings together students, faculty and staff unable to return home for the long holiday weekend. Free tickets are available by showing your BuckID at the Office of International Affairs in Enarson Classroom Building, the Hale Center and the Information Desk at the Ohio Union.

New Student Travel Award Application Process

Starting November 15 there is a new common application for EHE Student Travel Awards across all of the academic units. Each application and subsequent award will be processed by Amanda Crall, Graduate Associate Manager. Please utilize the new application link for applications moving forward. ORIC will be maintaining their current Travel Match Award process.

2023 EHE Research Forum Call for Proposals and Save the Date

The 2023 EHE Research Forum, which highlights the research efforts of our faculty, postdocs, research scientists and graduate and undergraduate students, will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Ohio Union. Graduate students are encouraged to submit a proposal for the forum.
 
Please save the date – registration information and other details will be sent closer to the event.
 
The call for proposals provides detail on the proposal types and required proposal sections and directions for submissions. Proposals are due by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2022.

Join us for a Cookie Decorating Party!



The EHE Graduate Student Advisory Council, Educational Studies, Human Sciences, and Teaching and Learning are thrilled to sponsor the 2022 Winter Sweet Treats Cookie Decorating Party with Plenty O'Smiles (Plenty O'Cookies Website) on Thursday, December 8 from 6-7 p.m. in Ramseyer 136!

This event is open to all EHE graduate students. There are 30 available spots for this event and space is very limited. With that, please only register if you are absolutely sure you are going to be available to attend.

Take a Break with Buckeye Paws!




We understand that the end of the semester and holiday season can be extremely busy and stressful, so why not take a break and stop by the Arps and PAES lobbies to say hello to a certified therapy dog! The Buckeye Paws program has a mission of supporting the mental and emotional health of students, faculty, and staff of The Ohio State University through highly trained, certified therapy dog-handler teams.

Date: November 29, 2022
Location 1: Arps Lobby (first floor between rooms 153 and 163) from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Location 2: PAES Lobby (located at the entrance on the Independence Hall side of the building) from 1-2 p.m.
Sponsored by the EHE Graduate Student Advisory Council in collaboration with the Buckeye Paws program
 
All EHE graduate students are welcome to stop by within the timeframe. No registration necessary. We hope to see you there!

Ohio Postgraduate Entrepreneurial Network (OPEN) event

OPEN is a new integrated resource at the Keenan Center for Entrepreneurship dedicated to increasing the entrepreneurial capacity of graduate students and postdocs. Opportunities include speaker series, entrepreneurial skills building workshops, mentorship and networking.
 
Join the Keenan Center for Entrepreneurship at its first Ohio Postgraduate Entrepreneurial Network (OPEN) event as Dr. Ziqing Qian discusses insights and experiences from the lab to a publicly-traded company on November 29 at 3 p.m. in the CBEC Building. An Ohio State alum, Qian is co-founder and vice president of discovery research at Entrada Therapeutics, an Ohio State startup company.

50% FTE GRA position with the OSUWMC Interprofessional Practice and Education Program (IPE)

Graduate Research Associate (GRA) will participate in program activities of the OSUWMC Interprofessional Practice and Education Program (IPE) starting the Spring 2023 semester.  This program is responsible for transforming the preparation of the next generation of health sciences professionals to collectively advance health and well-being.  IPE is accomplished by bringing health professionals from two or more professions together during their training to learn about, from and with one another to improve health outcomes, cultivate collaboration and provide patient-centered care.  Most often, this kind of learning occurs in practice, outside the lecture hall.

Alternative Thanksgiving
Join the Ohio State Native American and Indigenous community for this year's Alternative Thanksgiving! Alternative Thanksgiving Celebration is an open alternative event to the Thanksgiving national holiday. This is an event where friends and allies will learn about history, traditions, and current issues of Native American and Indigenous peoples with the goal to connect the campus community to the lived experiences of Native American and Indigenous peoples at OSU. Please email Madison Eagle with any questions or for more information.

Thanksgiving Dinner at Ohio State
An annual event, Thanksgiving Dinner at Ohio State brings together students, faculty and staff and community members unable to return home for the long holiday weekend. The traditional Thanksgiving Dinner includes turkey, gravy, green beans and mashed potatoes, served with corn bread and pie. All guests must have a ticket to attend the free event. Tickets will be available on Monday, November 14 at the Office of International Affairs in Enarson Classroom Building, the Information Desk at the Ohio Union and Hale Hall. You must show a BuckID to receive a ticket. An Ohio State Signature Event, Thanksgiving Dinner is supported by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Office of International Affairs, the Office of Student Life's Dining Services and The Ohio State University Alumni Association.
