Christ Kids

Christ Kids at the Parque Industrial site is underway, with several children awaiting sponsors! Can you help? Visit www.christkids.org to sponsor a child for only $50 a month! The children receive nutritious meals, health care, special tutoring, and most importantly weekly bible lessons.

Our hope for 2023 is to increase the number of children at this site from 20 to 60. Before that, however, we have to finish construction on the bathrooms and kitchen. We need close to $15K to get these in working order. Can you help? To help with construction costs click here and select “Compassion Fund” and indicate “PI Construction” in the memo.

SUSA University Ministry

One of the emphases of our university ministry is the importance of volunteering and service. The college students in this ministry help regularly with the adolescent groups in our churches. They also regularly visit local area schools to lead Bible studies and encourage the younger students. The group recently lead workshops with our own Geneva School kids on "Christian Leadership." Please pray for SUSA university ministry and the kids in Geneva School!

Our Team

Meet Cristopher Huamantumba, a member of Christ the Restorer Church in the Arevalo community. Cristopher is a student at Cesar Vallejo University majoring in modern languages and interpretation. He is an intern with our university ministry and leads the youth group at his church. As if that didn’t keep Cristopher busy enough, he is also enrolled as a seminary student and is a candidate for the ministry under care of Trujillo Presbytery. Cristopher is 22 years old. He came to faith as a young teenager and has been active in the church ever since. Please join us in praying for Cristopher as he jungles a busy schedule and serves the Lord in His Church.

Field Notes

Trujillo Presbytery this month approved a plan for a new church plant in the city of Chimbote starting early next year. Chimbote has a population of around 500K and is located two hours south of Trujillo. A core group sprang up there during the pandemic as they began watching Cristo Rey broadcasts online. A group from Cristo Rey has been visiting a couple of time per month. Please pray for this group and stay tuned for more information soon.
Noah’s Ark Camp is gearing up for action again in the month of January for the first time since the pandemic started. Please pray for Luis Mendoza and Oscar Loyola as they lead this effort, and for the children who will participate. If you can help with scholarships for children to attend camp please give to “Compassion Fund” and add a note indicating “Noah’s Ark Camp.”
Please pray for our Christmas activities in Christ Kids, Geneva School, SUSA, and the churches. There will be many opportunities to proclaim Good News to parents and family members of the children, as well as to many neighbors.
Be on the lookout for our 2022 End-of-Year report on all ministries and the prospectus for 2023. The report includes both urban and hinterland ministries. It will be released very soon.
