EDITO The announcement of the full recognition of the PAFC Congo Basin certification system is the result of 3 years of work (see article in this newsletter). This is good news for the sector, and also an opportunity to thank all the people who have invested in this project. With the success of the FSC GA and the solution brought to the thorny issue of IFLs, this year 2022 shows the commitment of the ATIBT and many of its members to support the development of sustainable forest certification systems in the tropics and in the Congo Basin in particular. Thanks also to the certification support mechanisms put in place with donors, we expect a real new dynamic for the progression of the number of certified hectares in the tropical zone over the next few years. Our next think tank (December 7 and 8) will be an opportunitytoidentify the next challenges for the coming months.
Have a good week-end!

Bon week-end ! Caroline Duhesme, Directrice Innovation et Stratégie de l’ATIBT |
