New Podcast Examines ‘Being a Whole Person’ in Higher Education
This fall, Conversations on Jesuit Higher Education expanded its portfolio by launching a new podcast series. “The Intersection” was developed by James P. McCartin, Ph.D., associate professor of theology at Fordham University and chair of the National Seminar on Jesuit Higher Education, and is hosted by Jennifer Abe, Ph.D., a professor in the department of psychological science at Loyola Marymount University. Professors McCartin and Abe recently discussed the impetus for creating the podcast, their process for finding guest speakers from Jesuit and non-Jesuit institutions, and their hopes for listeners; click here to learn more.

In honor of International Education Week (November 14-18), we want to share several international stories from our campuses here in the United States and abroad! Loyola University Chicago recently celebrated the 60th anniversary of its John Felice Rome Center (JFRC) with an alumni gathering in Rome. Of note, JFRC (whose director, Todd Waller, Ed.D. is pictured right) is the oldest, continuous American university program in Italy.
Creighton University celebrated the 50th anniversary of its partnership with the Institute for Latin American Concern; a Georgetown University student and alum were named Rhodes scholars; The Beijing Center announced public online search access to its library; and the Faculty of Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University issued a call for papers for a conference next spring (April 27-29, 2023) on “Theology Responding to the Challenge of Synodality."

Finally, if you are seeking adventure next summer, consider joining Spring Hill College professor Sr. Nélida Naveros Córdova, CDP on a biblical pilgrimage to Israel! Click here for details and watch the video below to learn more from Sr. Nélida!
