The last time I emailed you was to inform you of Geoff Aldis’ passing. Since then you may have read in the November ORBIT of the Rugby Section having a Past Players’ Lunch on 3rd December at 12.30, in the bar, with a hot and cold buffet. Please put this date in your diaries.
Many VPs are also Past Players and they and their partners are formally invited to attend this occasion (whether you played rugby or not!) – we thought that in the circumstances it would be an ideal situation to raise a glass to Geoff who was not only a four times captain of the 1st XV, a representative player for Surrey Clubs and CLOBs, a VP and a past Chairman of the Executive but he was also the prime instigator and organiser of the re-introduction of the Club Blazer. If you happen to be the proud owner of such an item you will be expected to be wearing it!
